4-5/7: The base and more wheels
Well, well, well! The Viking Dragon Ship is back and almost finished, yay!
(Yeah, you may see some plastic and stuff on the walls, I was covering my furniture since there are painters coming later today! Humidity after a few rainy long weeks in a row takes the worst out of old walls, let me tell you that).
It took me a couple of days to keep going because of the first of two mechanisms I was putting together last time:
It took me too long to realise that… I was building them incorrectly!

No need to panic! Although I did, just a bit ![]()
I basically had to remove everything and start over. I did a bit of a mess the first time when positioning the longer curved parts facing the right way and I’ve even screwed up with the screws! (Pun absolutely intended). But everything was solvable, it only means that the previous update I posted is useless lol. That’s why I’ve renamed it “X/7” ![]()
So here are the now properly built “mechanisms”:
Supposedly (I’m guessing) they’ll take the rotating force from the wheels (the ninja weapons, if you may) and use it to make the oars move. We’ll get there! Not today thought. Today we’re finally putting the ship together! Most of it, that is.

First the recently made mechanisms! They’re a bit tricky to fit into the hull parts, since they’re easily movable and you actually have to play with them by slightly pushing them to the front or the back to properly fit with the black parts, but hey! It doesn’t look too bad already.
Let’s keep putting this beast together, shall we? Let’s go! Next it’s time to add the Ninja Weapons to the ship.

Well, I hope those won’t kill anybody! ![]()
So for this you need to fit each wheel on each side, and the first one needs to be properly align with the gear that has been waiting there for ages now lol.

So after adding many circled parts to secure the wheels and the mechanisms together, this is how it’s looking so far. Pretty cool, huh?
So for the last step today we’ll be adding the shields to both sides! It won’t be a proper Viking ship without those, am I right?
The shield-making is pretty easy and they look fantastic even on their own:
Now they need to be properly fit an aligned on the hull, and that’s even trickier than when adding the mechanisms
not impossible though! And after that’s assembled and a couple more details have been added… We finally have our viking ship (almost) ready to sail!
Look how thick it is already lol! And I haven’t even added the oars yet. I seriously need to think now where the heck am I gonna display this monster ![]()
So next update should be the last one! There are only two last things to do: to connect and assemble the engines and mechanisms, and to add the oars and final details. Almost done, folks. Almost done.

See you/read you around!
