📖 [Rowood Journey] Floral bouquet day 2

I am moving at a snails pace, but these flowers are fragile.I almost got through the Lilac with no breaks, but then at the end -crack.Not noticeable so I moved on. The next one I finished is the Red Camillia. This one is going a little better this far.

A tip for the Lilac. On the instructions where I wrote Very Hard. Not so much hard as it is trying to figure out where I am actually attaching the part. I recommend you locate the arrows on the rounf parts, the turn the flower to match the buds at the top. Took me a bit to try to figure out what they were saying on there!

Yes….you have to line up the first few flowers and make sure you are looking at in the exact same position as the instructions. I struggled on this one, because if you lay it down, it is hard to find exactly where you were….LOL!

Yes! I am glad I was not alone on this. These flowers are killin me and my brain! They are beautiful but tough!

When are the pieces breaking? When you’re popping them out of the template, or when your fitting the pieces together?

OMG. I’m very afraid of breaking a piece. Sometimes we don’t have the replacement parts.

there are some replacements but not much. Maybe I just have too heavy of a hand for these

Sometimes I’m just like you. The smaller pieces are harder to remove, and sometimes I press too hard. Occasionally, I have to glue them back together because I don’t have a replacement.

OMG the first flowers… that is all I did. So thankful for super glue

I felt a bit slow today, also. May be it’s just going around.

I did the tulip. I found it enjoyable. I have another flower I want to build soon too.

Wow okay looking at the instructions blew my mind a little. I did not expect a single lilac to be so tricky! :face_with_peeking_eye:

Now I am scared of starting on my lilac

Did you paint the edges of your flowers?

But bright side, they look beautiful and I don’t notice any cracks at all.

It went along well until I put a flower on one of the bottom branch things and crack! The red flower was much better! Nearing the end!

Do not be afraid, just take your time. The lilac went well until the end as I put a flower on a branch. The branch was going down instead of up and when I oushed the petal on it cracked. It was on the bottom. I did not even try to glue and just painted the break.
Yes I painted the edges, at least as well as I could. I prefer the painted edges. The first flower I did pre build, but the remainder I waited closer to end. A little more difficult that waybut the paint can make it harder to snap the flower petals on.

it looks very nice. seeing all the little parts i can understand why it was difficult.

The lilac was the challenging one. I was a little confused with the directions of the pieces at the start.

Very fragile! toward the end I remembered one of your tips and sanded a little more and waxed. That helped a bit. The red camillia and rose were best.

Yes! I did not like placing all those flowers on it either!

Your flowers are coming along so beautifully, and I love seeing your steady progress. Even when a tiny piece cracks, you always manage to turn it into something lovely. That calm patience of yours really shines through in every build. Thank you for sharing the tip too; it’s so helpful! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thank you for your kind words and confidence! I truly appreciate that!!!

You should never break a part by pushing the pieces out. If you are struggling, turn the board over and you can see the tiny tabs holding it in place. Just cut those with your razor knife. @ThaoNguyen
