I am moving at a snails pace, but these flowers are fragile.I almost got through the Lilac with no breaks, but then at the end -crack.Not noticeable so I moved on. The next one I finished is the Red Camillia. This one is going a little better this far.
A tip for the Lilac. On the instructions where I wrote Very Hard. Not so much hard as it is trying to figure out where I am actually attaching the part. I recommend you locate the arrows on the rounf parts, the turn the flower to match the buds at the top. Took me a bit to try to figure out what they were saying on there!
Yes….you have to line up the first few flowers and make sure you are looking at in the exact same position as the instructions. I struggled on this one, because if you lay it down, it is hard to find exactly where you were….LOL!
Sometimes I’m just like you. The smaller pieces are harder to remove, and sometimes I press too hard. Occasionally, I have to glue them back together because I don’t have a replacement.
Do not be afraid, just take your time. The lilac went well until the end as I put a flower on a branch. The branch was going down instead of up and when I oushed the petal on it cracked. It was on the bottom. I did not even try to glue and just painted the break.
Yes I painted the edges, at least as well as I could. I prefer the painted edges. The first flower I did pre build, but the remainder I waited closer to end. A little more difficult that waybut the paint can make it harder to snap the flower petals on.
Your flowers are coming along so beautifully, and I love seeing your steady progress. Even when a tiny piece cracks, you always manage to turn it into something lovely. That calm patience of yours really shines through in every build. Thank you for sharing the tip too; it’s so helpful!
You should never break a part by pushing the pieces out. If you are struggling, turn the board over and you can see the tiny tabs holding it in place. Just cut those with your razor knife. @ThaoNguyen
