📖 [Rolife Journey] Rowood Red Camellia

I just finished building my 1st ever Rowood Flower - Red Camellia and my thumb hurts!:joy:

It needed a lot of pushing small pieces that eventually made my thumb hurt.

Here are some notes about the product:

  1. The kit was well thought of - they provided sand paper and sticky tapes. And spare pieces too.
  2. This build has more delicate pieces so I opted to use a cutter instead of popping out the pieces.
  3. I found it difficult to push some of the petals to their slots and broke one. Luckily there’s a spare. I just did a bit of sanding and wiggling and the pieces successfully push through.
  4. I love that the pieces have numbers, making it easy to find where to place each petal piece.

It took me around 3 hours to complete. It’s a small project but it was challenging. And the output is stunning. I want to build more and maybe place them together in a vase to display.

Nice job! These flowers are not as easy as they look. The lilac in the Spring bouquet was the toughest for me. I have the tulip coming and then I think I will have completed them all

From your experience, which of the flowers was easiest @Nita_Davis ?

Thank you @Emma_Samchek

No problem at all :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::heart_hands::heart_hands::heart_hands:

Believe it or not, @Jill_Francisco …the Orchid. Those pieces barely even have to bend at all. The sunflower (I don’t think) has no bendy pieces…and neither do the chamomile. I’m not looking right at the sunflower because I gave that bouquet to my mom. The lilac has no bendy pieces either. It’s just hard to see exactly where to add pieces. You have to be looking at it from the exact angle shown in the instructions…so if you set it down, you need to go ack to EXACTLY where you were working. Hard to explain, but that’s the best I can do…

I think I get what you mean by the lilacs. If it’s not because of the numbers printed on the pieces I would also not know where to place the petals with the Camellia
I thought the rose would be the easiest from the flowers, I guessed wrong. Hahaha I should have tried making these flowers first before buying a bunch to give as gifts to my nieces for Christmas.

I totally understand. They say for kids 14+. I sometimes feel like a dummy when they are often tough for a 62 year old woman…LOL! @Jill_Francisco

3 hours, it looks like it would take longer. Do you advice to sand the tabs the pettles go on?

Beautiful! hopefully i can order this one soon!

They are trickier than one would think from just looking at them!!

I do have a tool like this from the dream gift factory. I didn’t thought of using it.
I will use it on my next flower project. Thanks @Alpine

I did sand all the pieces but I broke one of the petals while doing it  with these flowers I took more time to carefully sand each piece. And using the cutter to remove each piece also took more time.

Thanks for the tips. With so many bending parts its indeed wise to cut them out and be extra careful
