This one surprised all of us. It’s adorable, festive, and more challenging than it looks.
What they loved:
- The pendulum and little mechanisms.
- Seeing everything, like the Santa’s arm and the present moves.
What was difficult:
- The snowflake with the ROKR “R”.
- Small adjustments to make the mechanism smooth.
2. Christmas Fireplace

This was one of the most popular kits of the entire project, tied with the Sakura Bonsai.
What they loved:
- Decorating the fireplace.
- All the mini Christmas details.
- The absolutely cuteness of this kit.
What was difficult:
- Some delicate parts, like the presents, that needed patience.
3. Rolife Sakura Bonsai
Posts:
Another absolute favourite. Beautiful, relaxing, and very satisfying.
What they loved:
- Watching the tree fill up with flowers.
- The transformation from empty branches to full bloom.
- Each finished branch was like a celebration.
What was difficult:
- Attaching the branches without breaking them.
- Extremely fragile parts with flowers; they didn’t have enough space for attach them properly, so I had to attach some of them.
- We had to use superglue for some pieces.

This one was a pleasant surprise for them, and a very different style from the Sakura Bonsai.
What they loved:
- The natural look.
- The cute tiny decorations.
- The final “little forest” effect.
What was difficult:
- Snapping some branches into place.
- Avoiding bending the thinner pieces.
- We had to use superglue for some pieces.
5. Rowood Purple Moth Orchid
Posts:
The final boss of the project. Beautiful… but absolutely not as easy as it looks.
What they loved:
- The elegant final result.
- Being able to take home a flower that looks “real”.
- The feeling of mastering something so delicate.
- Choosing the petal direction (light pink vs dark pink).
What was difficult:
- Extremely fragile petals (so much cracking, bending and snapping…).
- Lots of steps where they mixed pieces or reversed parts.
- Some flowers didn’t fit on the stem even when “done right” (as they said).
- I had to dismantle many blooms to fix them.
- I had to fix some pieces with superglue.
My conclusion with this kit:
- Definitely not a beginner-friendly kit for kids with no previous wood/Rowood experience, or for them to build it alone. But they fought for it, and the pride on their faces was priceless.
Final Thoughts:
Across all five kits, they learned:
- Patience.
- How to handle frustration.
- How to help each other.
- How to follow steps carefully.
- How to stay focused.
- How to take responsibility for their own builds.
- How great it feels to finish something challenging.
- To trust themselves.
- And most important: A new hobby that they started to love!
Also, I’ve learned that guiding them through this adventure is even more beautiful than watching the final pieces. Thank you to everyone who followed their journey through every post!!!
I wish these little builders that this wonderful adventure they’ve begun stays with them for a very long time!! ![]()
