The kids started with so much enthusiasm, they were completely focused while building it. For the paper parts like the boxes and the little stockings on the fireplace, they used regular glue sticks from class. They also used the tweezers included in the kit to handle the tiny pieces they couldn’t do with their fingers.
So far, everything feels easy to them, though the smaller pieces do challenge them a bit, but nothing they can’t overcome! They haven’t had any broken pieces or needed superglue at all, which is a huge win.
Honestly, it looks like they might be the first group to finish their kits, and they’re getting more excited every day.
I’ll keep sharing updates as they keep building! Thank you for your heartwarming words and for being with me throughout this beautiful and special moment.
I have no words for how awesome you are but I know I would’ve been over the moon if my teacher gave me this experience when I was a kid. And I’m glad they get to experience this!
It’s really great, because there comes a point where they become more independent and only ask for my help with very specific things or a piece that doesn’t quite fit, for example. But they learn quickly, and they help each other a lot when someone has trouble with a piece and another student has already figured it out in their own kit. I’m really enjoying the experience!!
Yes, I agree with you. They will help children become more independent and confident. At the same time, they will increase their ability to communicate when they need support. I support letting children work and play, not just using phones or electronic devices.
