The Titanic Journey 7-8/15: Lower decks and hulls of the stern

It’s lively to see the progress of this titanic ship. It’s beautiful. Looking forward to more updates from you.

It nice having bonus kit. That book nook is lovely. Have fun building.

Wow you made a great progress. This ship is amazing :star_struck: i like the book nook too, i think your brother would love it

Thanks a lot for your comments @Jerry_Boswijk @jeanneL @Tricia12 @Liset! I haven’t been able to keep building the past few days since I’ve been moving to a new place with my partner. I’m pretty tired haha as you can imagine. But it’s all set (almost, babysteps) now and later today I’ll keep going with this one! I can’t wait to put my hands on it.

And I’ll also start with the Nook for my brother sooner than later, that’s for sure :stuck_out_tongue: It’s supposed to be a Christmas gift so I shouldn’t wait too much longer!

How wonderful that you made it just before Christmas. I hope you enjoy your new place! I’ve already missed your updates

Congrats on your new move! Absolutely get going on the gift. It will be fast but done. and then you can slow down and work on Titanic.

I forgot to ask if you are keeping the chair orange in the Nook?

Thanks a lot! It’s been crazy with all the moving plus Christmas decor

Aw that’s so sweet of you! In less than 24h you’ll have my next Titanic update around here :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks a lot! Actually I’ll finish the Titanic first. After all, here in Spain we usually share gifts by the end of Christmas time (you find the gifts the morning of Jan 6th because of the three Wise Men), so I’ll have plenty of time!

And regarding your other question… I maintain my position as a non-eager-to-customize-kits person, so yeah, it’ll remain so :stuck_out_tongue:

That is ok to keep as is. I never thought to paint furniture until the A-frame and I just could not put a pink couch in the home. I had no choice really. and it was easier than I thought. Now I am a painting fool

I had had a lot of days shifts and trainingcourse so also not a lot of building time on my end either

That makes a lot of sense!

Well, we never have all the time we’d like, but we can make it! You’ll get there as well.

I noticed you said something about a special tool that some kits include that this one did not. Do you mind elaborating on which tool you are referring to? You are not talking about the punch out tool that helps with punching out the parts from the boards correct? It doesn’t sound like it. I’m just interested in what I am missing out on. I am somewhat new to doing these models… I’m about 5 deep but they have all been the wooden 3D “puzzles” all from different companies. Unfortunately I have found that the quality is not the same with every kit and I’m now always looking for a heads up for improvement. I have just ordered 2 more kits before seeing you doing this titanic build but you have now made me add this to my list for sure. Thanks for the detailed build!

Oh wow, I’ve just realized I haven’t seen nor replied this comment. So so sorry!

So… Yeah, I was actually talking about the punch out tool, I mean, the tool made of wood that is actually included in one of the wooden leaves of parts and has “tool” written over it, so you won’t think it’s a part to be fit somewhere else in the build.

I don’t know, I just thought that this kind of build could really use one of those because of all the tiny little details and parts you have to fit and push here and there.

So glad to be of help and to make you decide to build this one! I don’t think you’ll regret it.
