📖 [Rokr Journey] Santa on Sleigh — Day 1 Progress!

I’ve just started working on the Santa on Sleigh gravity swing by ROKR — a kit I won from the Weekly Story in the Facebook group!

I actually put Kiki’s Magic Emporium aside for now because this is one of the kits I’ll be bringing to this month’s event, and I really wanted to have a finished version to show. Since it’s one of the more unique kits I own, I also want to be able to answer any questions people might have while building it.

At first glance, it seems like an easy kit, but it definitely has a mix of simpler steps and a few trickier parts. It only has 141 pieces, so it’s not too overwhelming. With a bit of time, it’s definitely something you could finish in around 3–4 hours or less.

One of my favorite parts so far has been building the base. The little spinning snowflake activated by turning the nut is such a charming detail, and I absolutely love the hidden compartment where the snowflake can be stored. Such a clever design!

After finishing the base, I went on to the giant gift that Santa carries on his sleigh. I used a gold marker to paint the edges so the wood color wouldn’t show through. Since the wood is quite thick, it only adds a subtle shine, but I still like the effect!

And that’s it for Day 1 of building. I’ll continue another day and share more progress soon.

Hope you enjoyed this little update on my first build session!

It looks like such a fun build. The extra touches of gold makes it even better. Have fun building fase 2.

Nice, thanks for sharing! Funny enough, I’ve just received that one from my Black Friday shopping  you’ll probably finish it before I even start with it so I’ll be following your updates closely!

Thanks so much, Jeanne! That tiny metallic sparkle on the gift was my favorite part to add! It’s a shame it doesn’t seem to show very much :smiling_face_with_tear:

You did a great job so far. I’m always amazed by all the details a building contains. The designers really think of everything  Good luck with the rest of the construction. I’m sure your event will be a super successful day with all the good preparations you’ve made.

Thank you, Liset! Sometimes I think the designers hide tiny surprises just to check if we’re paying attention :joy: I’m sure this little Santa will give me a few more plot twists before I finish!

LOL @Nita_Davis, the legendary “snowflake we all avoid” strikes again :joy: One day we’ll face it… but today is not that day!

I never did my little compass for the Seahorse Barque either. I spend so much time on the painting that I don’t wanna deal with something nobody will EVER see…or in the case of that compass…something that will eventually get lost…LOL!

I think that too sometimes. I always really like the little hidden details @Wenbare With Santa’s sleigh, you’ll be fine, with your experience, even though it’s a different kind of build. I think the miniature houses are more complicated.
