The Eternal Atlantic Voyager

This has to be my most relaxing build so far. Just about every part fits perfectly.

I’m nearing the part where you install the ship’s rigging (string), which I’ve heard is the most challenging part of the whole build.

Hoping it goes easy on me when I get there.

It’s a nice kit. A sad movie

That rigging by the stacks is bit challenging. I ended up gluing down (with fast drying glue) to help hold. They were not as tight but it would pull at pieces if too tight

I’ve not done this one…but I did do the Seahorse Barque which had a lot of rigging. Wishing you the best of luck. It is looking great so far.

Will do. The build so far has been so fun.

I was told that too. May need a little glue.

This looks great! Good luck with the rest of the build :slightly_smiling_face:

The small details are really what sells it. It’s a clean and beautiful build so far.

Keep us updated when you finished this Voyager please. That kit is sooo elegant.

At least you could hide the room with the side panel. I think it looks cute but it does take away the scale of the model.

I kind of like the little room. Good news is yes you can close it off if you want

Glad you’re enjoying it! I’ve built this one a couple of months back and it’s such a filling and satisfying build, isn’t it? Yours is looking nice and smooth so far!

Regarding the strings, I honestly wouldn’t say it’s that challenging once you get the way of them, which you should after one or two of them. My personal advice would be not to cut the remains of the strings when the manual prompts you to. Instead wait until you fit the chimneys into their “holes”, since they tend to move and “relax” the strings because of the pressure and movements you use to fit them, so you can re-adjust them afterwards and then, then you can cut them. I didn’t do that and some of my strings are not that straight now.

That looks like a cool kit. Looking forward to the finished product.

I’m currently halfway through installing the strings. Surprisingly easy to install actually, just needs a little finesse.

I’ve cut the strings as instructed sadly. For now they seem ok. I’ll be leaving the next half uncut as adviced and see what happens.
