📖 [Rolife Journey] Eternal Atlantic Voyager Update 2

Yesterday was a much slower build day. Lots of tiny parts that are easily broken. I finished adding floors/levels and started on the stacks.

These are like toothpicks and all it took was lightly hitting one and snap. Lucky they give you a spare. In my pic I circled how they look, That whole process took several hours. The ropes had even smaller pieces in tight spaces. I found this to be tough and now know what @TheToday was saying! The ropes also did not stay easily so I ended up dropping a pinch of glue at each point.

I got as far as getting the lights up and even that took a while as I had to gently tug and straighten so I had enough to wrap at end! You have to try to get it around that little round end. Arrow is pointing to it.

On page 40 there is a little piece F37. whose tab was too big for the slot it was supposed to go in. I triple checked instructions and I was in correct spot. I ended up sanding down the tab quite a bit and was able to work it in.
I just have a couple more walls to put up. I then want to touch up a few places with paint, not much, and I am done.
I wont finish today though. Most likely Monday evening. I will post final project.
This really has been great as well. I still could not say whether I liked this or the Seahorse more! They are both awesome!

Wow! You are almost done  I hate pushing pieces in tight spaces because I think I have big hands  Glad to hear everything worked out and there were spares. It’s looking great @jeanneL

You did great. Perfect. It looks good. I wait your finish ship

Thanks Jill! Yes on the decks were some super small parts i super tight places. Those big pipes I think for exhaust were in some tight places. It might have helped it the walls werent there. Same with some of the toothpick things! I tried to figure if I could have done later, but a cover goes down so not so much

This looks beautiful like a real ship. You’ve done it great. It’s almost complete. I love seeing this kind of kit since I don’t have the confidence yet to build at this level but makes me inspire.

It’s looking really nice. I have a question. Is the deck/ flooring real wood or is it MDF?

Wow, that is such a pretty build. I love the details of this.

OMG, you’re putting in sooooo much work, Jeanne!!! I really love how detailed and helpful all the information you’re sharing is. You’re absolutely right, all those little steps you point out are way more time-consuming and tricky than they look. I can’t wait to see your finished Titanic, it already looks incredible!!

Wow! I love how intricate it is and how much patience and attention to detail it requires. I can’t wait for you to complete it, you’re doing an amazing job! :pink_heart:

it is like a balsa

You are so quick and so talented!

That looks like one of those very satisfying build days. All those tiny, fragile pieces really test your patience, especially when even the lightest touch can snap them. I’m glad they included spares, but still, several hours on those details is no joke. The ropes and lighting sound especially tricky, so it’s impressive you pushed through and got them looking right.

Good catch on that F37 tab too. Sanding it down was a smart solution, and it’s reassuring to hear it wasn’t an instruction issue. Little fit problems like that can be so frustrating in the moment. Your approach sounds calm and methodical, which really shows in the progress. Your tips have been so helpful when I start building my kits!

It’s exciting that you’re so close to the finish line now. I’m really looking forward to seeing the final project. And I totally get the struggle of choosing between this and the Seahorse. They both seem incredible in their own way.

Good to know that I should be careful when I build this. I have a tendency to push the tabs hard but then again, because of my arm I couldn’t do it anyway lol

Hopefully you heal soon. Light sanding and waxing will help in most situations

Good to know. Balsa will stain properly, but MDF won’t. Thanks for verifying.

YES, take your time, sand, wax, gentle push!

I am not a wood expert tgough. There is some what i think MDF because you can see layers. But the hull and the floors look more like a balsa
