Nah, that’s not a possibility. That long red part can only fit in one position. If you check the last photo in the post, in that end of the red piece there’s a long hole that gets stuck in that corner of the horizontal part. And I can’t turn it around because the other side of it it’s wooden color and not red, so… The issue is not there 
Hmm hopefully @robotime have an answer for you. I hope when the ship is finished it won’t be so noticeable
Well, at least for the moment it’s only that noticeable if you look close enough! If you take a look at the full photo in the beginning it’s not that easy to see.
Hopefully Robotime will be able to answer you otherwise you will know as you build more step by step. It does look fine to me tho!

Yeah hopefully it will blend in. With wood there is always a possibility for this as it is a natural product.

Yeah, good point! I haven’t thought of that. Or I didn’t remember it. My Seahorse Barque still have some imperfections itself that are not that fixable now (f.e. I completely forgot to add the “window” plastic on the rear part, so you can kind of see the captain quarter pieces from behind), but nothing to be too worried about. And you know about my “toy that ended up being lower Christmas tree decoration” factory situation 
So in the end many minor issues may happen during the build that maybe even will be there once you’re done, but yeah, it’s all good if it doesn’t complicate further building.
