📖 [Rolife Journey] Start Christmas melody tree

Today, the first presents arrived from the Black Friday contest on Instagram that I won. Since it’s not Christmas yet, the Christmas Melody Tree has priority for now. So, the cuckoo clock will have to wait. This is the first time I’ve paused a build. It doesn’t go so fast, because I paint the edges. Hopefully, this one will be finished before Christmas.
I skipped the first steps for assembling the presents and Santa Claus with his sleigh. I don’t need it right away, and this way I can easily store it.

This is going to be really nice and I’m sure that you will finish it before Christmas. Getting the tree installed was actually the hardest part for me. You got this

It’s important to take things one at a time for me too.

Good thinking @Liset on not building Santa and gifts yet. Since we dont have a workspace for crafts, we had to move our Santa and gifts everytime we use our dining table

Have fun building the tree :christmas_tree:

I got this for November prize! I like to paint as well and I suspect this one will take a while!

I think it’s going to take a lot of time to paint all the edges of the tree.

If it weren’t almost Christmas, I would never have put the cuckoo on hold. I’m going to keep working hard so this build is finished before Christmas and I can get back to work on the cuckoo.

Yes, now I can easily put it back in the box. The presents are made of paper, so I have to be careful with them.

Thank you @JDisaduck I just don’t like unpainted edges  Because the colors are a bit lighter, I had to apply three coats to get full coverage. I hope all the edges don’t need three coats, otherwise it will take a long time.

Do you think i can finish it before Christmas?

Painting is definitely a long job but the end result will be worth it! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Lol I’m hoping for you that it does not require three coats too.

Mine just arrived yesterday so I did not start yet. I know I will paint mine to brighten up. I was going to do the wreath first so idk.
But I am retired so I have more free time!

Today I bought a Posca marker, I hope it covers the edges well and that it goes a bit faster than with a brush and paint

@Liset
Someone had said those were good I think! May take a couple coats because that wood really sucks it up

I’ve read that too. I do have some Acryl markers, but they were from a cheap brand and don’t cover very well. So I’m curious to see if I’ll notice a difference with the Posca marker.
