Started on my little Christmas Book Nook. The colors did not appear to be true red to me so I changed them all. First I outlined the black bricks so that they would show up after I paint over them. I used a thin black Sharpie to do that. I just can’t have this orange dresser so it is going to be changed to Arbor Green. Can’t have those raw edges on my snowflakes either so I am painting away
I’m excited to see the green dresser!
The snowflakes looked hard to paint to me ![]()
Im sure you will do a great job. Are you painting only the sides of the snowflake or also the white areas.
Thanks! I paint the whole thing. It is much easier to do so than to try to keep the paint off the front and the colors never match up perfectly anyways. @Jerry_Boswijk
They weren’t really that hard. I wasn’t sure what color to paint that thing but I wasn’t going to leave it Orange LOL @JDisaduck
All I see are the jagged edges lol
HAHAHA fair enough an orange dresser is rather bright!
It’s looking lovely already! I really like the color changes, they make it feel even more festive and personal.
Incredible attention to detail.
You’re definitely a lot more motivated than I would be! I hate painting edges!
Looks great! ![]()
The only orange on this build will be the Snowman’s nose.. LOL
I am definitely going to brighten up this green and gold
as well. The colors just always looks so washed out and you couldn’t even see the lines on those bricks. It seems a shame for them not to even be noticed.
Good tip. Thank you
Beautiful! Great tip on painting the black on first before the red on the bricks. Thanks for sharing this.
HAHAHAHA I love it but what has orange done to you lol

You’re very welcome @Jerry_Boswijk I will never ever try to paint edges only. Especially when some paints take multiple coats on the edges. That is just so time-consuming. I do all of my edges first with multiple coats if needed and then I do the face to make it look nice.
Thanks! It has to be an old based marker. That is the reason I used the Sharpie. It will bleed back through any acrylic paint that you put over it. I hope this helps lots of people who want their details to stand out @Jill_Francisco
Thank you very much. @Atropex . I just love the painting aspect of these. Since I’ve done 99 in less than 2 years, if I wasn’t painting them I would have run out of puzzles to do or I would be broke…lol!
Thank you very much for noticing. I don’t take my puzzling lightly…LOL! Since I paint houses for a living as well and do a bit of artistic stuff on walls, I am very picky @SunnyCee
I like that green colour for the signs. I think it will look much better when it’s bright. Have fun painting and building @Nita_Davis ![]()
Thank you so much. I am also going to repaint the gold lettering. @Tricia12
