After a busy few days over Christmas, I was finally able to continue working on the Melody Tree today. All the edges of the 42 leaves are finally painted. It took quite a while, as I had to apply two coats before it was fully covered. Tomorrow I’ll decorate the tree and put up the final decorations. I hope to finish it tomorrow.

I am starting to paint on edges and I found it hard to color match sometimes. And it does take more time. Have fun building the rest.

It also took me a while to get the color right. I made a whole batch of paint at once and put it in an empty paint tube so I wouldn’t have to keep mixing it

This is why I find it so much easier to just paint the whole piece. Colors don’t have to be exact and you can paint much faster without worrying about what gets on the edges…but you always have a beautiful finish product so just keep doing what you’re doing because it looks amazing

Looks good! My ornaments kept falling off. I had to hold in place while glue dried! Had them rolling all over! The decorating is fun though. Enjoy!

I get what you mean, but then it would take just as long because I had to paint the edges twice. I don’t have to be so careful this time, because I could wipe the paint off immediately if it got on the front

My Christmas ornaments also came loose. I fixed them with superglue so I don’t have to hold them for very long

Thank you so much @JDisaduck I always try to paint as evenly as possible (so there are no imperfections in the paint). Maybe that’s why it took longer

Yeah I completely understand I have the same OCD. 
This is why I’m not the biggest fan of painting and I can’t paint everything hahaha. I know and accept my limits hehe so I’ll just admire other people’s work.

Thank you @Wenbare I already glued all the balls in this morning. Hopefully I can finish it tonight, but I think I still have quite a bit to do, so I hope I can make it
