Your book is still intact despite the time you own it from your nan and is really precious to you given the way you describe it. It’s, as other members of the community said, a treasure that you must keep and transmit to the next generation.
This story is moving so much that it made me cry. As soon as there’s a moving scene in a history or a movie, I can’t help crying. I’m too emotive.
It has nothing to do with, but I cried in the lion king anime when Simba realized that his dad Mufasa passed away.
And the movie that made me cry the most was Grave of the fireflies, an animated movie realized Isai Takahata in the Ghibli studios. The story is beautiful but so sad
.
@Minus_88 wow~ you have a beautiful handwriting
my handwriting really little until my teacher complained to my parents as she got presbyopia because of me![]()

I cried when mufasa died too! So sad
You should! How charming! These old typewriters have such character. ![]()
As soon as I saw this typewriter it brings back so much memories. I remembered the first time I saw it was 29 years ago.
One day I went to see my teacher in her office and saw her using this machine to do some typing. I didn’t know what she was typing but the first thing that comes to my mind is that it was so cool. I was so fascinated with the machine. I was young and full of excitement when I saw it and wishing I could have it one day even though I have no clue what it’s called. ![]()
I remembered walking out of my teacher’s office and I had all the funny ideas come to my head imagining what I would use it for….definitely not for work because it’s wasn’t cool enough.
Hehehe.
I remembered coming home and telling my mum about it and how cool it was. Well for my mum it is just normal as the machine they use to type up paperwork etc, but for a 5 years old girl it’s a whole new level of excitement and dreams. I know right it’s just a typewriter but hey for me back then it was something really cool and was dreaming of having.
Now growing up and to used to technology and never got a chance to see it anymore. Until now, this beautiful type writer is back into action, thanks to @Robotime especially Rokr team. The interior design of my house is mainly vintage style with wooden furnitures. My sister and I have the passage for vintage designs so we collected Capodimonte ceramic items. Ever since I started building Rolife and Rokr kits it fills my house with warmness and brings back so much beautiful memories especially with this typewriter.
I like the smell of the ink and the look of the text. I would love to use this type writer to type up poem, letters, love notes for my other half and Buddhism sutras. As a pharmacist I don’t have fancy hand writing so with the use of this typewriter which I will be carefully typing each letters will make my work more personal.
My sister and I have got an area in our office for practicing calligraphy, and since the house interior design very much vintage style, this typewriter will fit in so well within our beautiful relaxing corner.
The incorporation of calligraphy art with typewriter would be a dream come true. This is when art meets mechanics.
Wow! This typewriter is so neat! It reminds me of my mom, who was a secretary. We also had a blue typewriter at home we used all the time for homework! Memories!
IT REALLY TYPES
I’m in love
this is my new fav, the gramophone got bumped second best
love love love love
I guess I invoke a vintage vibe subtly every day, because I’ve always been drawn to the 60s/70s vibe.
Music is a big part of it for me. I love disco and house, and even just playing it at home always starts the day off with great vibes! I’m also really into mid-century design, like warm wooden tones and soft lighting, and super cozy retro fabrics. In fashion too, it was a bold time, but now there are classic pieces that feel timeless and also stand out.
For me, it’s really about bringing those elements into everyday life and invoking a warm and cozy environment for myself. That’s why a mechanical typewriter is so cool!! It’s not just aesthetic, it’s a way to slow down and actually enjoy the process.
Recreating the vintage vibe for me means listening to the record albums of my teenage years. Some of my favorites are The Dream Police by Cheap Trick (the first album I ever bought!), Fire of Unknown Origin by Blue Oyster Cult, Moving Pictures by Rush, Freedom at Point Zero by Jefferson Starship, and of course, Purple Rain by Prince and the Revolution which was practically the sound track for my sophomore year at college.
Vintage never dies. Cheap Trick is still putting out new music. Their newest album All Washed Up released right before Christmas last year. Can we call that vintage? I think so.
Being an old timer who had typing class in high school (blank keys without the letters so you learn to remember the keys!), I absolutely love this. And nothing like that clickety-clack noise, music to my ears. I often get teased that my text notification sound is just that… the clicking of a typewriter including the “ding” at the end
. I’ve also had young people ask me what IS that sound!
I very much like vintage/retro things and keep more than I probably should. One of my favorites is this Smiley Face goblet. It is my go-to glass when indulging in an adult beverage! ![]()

This is truly remarkable build!! Congratulation to all team who was responsible of design this two!! Amazing job ![]()
I handwrite still so much. I journal, I write my shopping lists, recipes in my book, reminders to myself, ideas I have. I find it so much more therapeutic than putting it in my phone.
Handwriting is something that is uniquely yours. I still have a handwritten note that my grandmother gave me, and one from my brothers for my birthday. I may not have them anymore but I have this piece of them.
That’s such a fun mix of vintage-inspired style and creativity!
That’s such a charming story—you’ve really embraced the character of your 1960s home. I love how you leaned into the vintage instead of modernizing everything
Ofcourse. You’re very welcome ![]()
I love how you highlight handwriting as something warm and alive—it really does carry emotion in a way that typed words can’t.
