Here, the 1st is also a holiday.

My story begins when I finally traveled to Japan for the first time in 2019.

While browsing in shops, I saw Rolife kits for the first time. I was fascinated by them—so much detail, everything so beautiful, and so much variety that I didn’t know which one to choose!

I love miniatures. In Spain that year, Rolife wasn’t available in any shops, even though I travel around Barcelona quite a bit. So, for me, it was a great discovery and a new hobby.

Also, May 11th is my birthday, so let’s see if I’m lucky!

Thank you for this amazing giveaway! I love Sanrio! And my favorite character is Cinnamoroll!!!

P.S.: I ended up buying the Book Book Kit - Sakura Densya. It was my first kit.

I think the first real meaningful build for me was a robot I built in electronics class back in High School. It was 1998 so school robotics was very simple. I bought a kit robot that had six legs and would walk until it came close to a wall, then turn and continue onward. For me that was the first time I really fell in love with crafting and building. Now I spend my time building models and dioramas for photography. The Super Creator kits are a particular favorite but mine is still under construction after adding three new rooms.

This is one of my proudest moments- finishing the Seahorse Barque. It was around the height of winter in my home town and it was just isolating. Putting my focus and energies on this build really helped with the winter blues.

May 1 is also celebrated as Labor Day here in the Philippines and we will be going out for a swimming trip with my extended family. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

My building or crafting story, hmm, I think it’s about starting to share the hobby that me and my daughter enjoyed doing together and sharing that with other families with kids on the spectrum as well that might also benefit to the same hobby. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Recently, I have brought one of my Rolife kits with me while I was in the waiting area during my daughter’s weekly occupational and speech therapy session. When I started to open the box, some of the kids on the spectrum waiting for their turn in therapy approached me and got curious about what the DIY kit is all about. They had the same curiousity as when my I first introduced the Rolife kit to my daughter. Most of them are like my daughter who are not yet very conversant. One of the moms asked me about it and I told her about how me and my daughter loved building this DiY kits together and we try to incorporate some of the practices that her speech pathologist told me about to help my daughter communicate more. I also told her how it helped my daughter really speak up more which her speech pathologist also agreed on. They recommend play therapy wherein we try to make them say the things we are doing or the things we are building in the kit. This is also the reason why I brought the Cozy Kitchen kit coz I wanted my daughter to practice her words with what we recently reviewed, the parts of the house and specifically the kitchen. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

To be honest, it feels so rewarding to be told by my daughter’s therapist that what we are doing with the kits and involving her with it has actually helped her communication skills more. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

When I got home yesterday, one of the moms messaged me to ask where to buy these kinds of kits and I told them about a KKV store near them which sells Robotime kits as well.

I already have the Pompompurin Leisurely Breakfast kit and the Cinnamoroll Cafe Super Creator kits but if I ever win one of these, I’ll definitely be giving it to someone else that might also benefit from these kits like what my daughter and I had. :sparkling_heart:

Here are some photos of these kits that I have posted before which I still absolutely adore everytime I see them on our table! :star_struck:

My most meaningful story is of my first Rolife miniature craft.

I was so excited to bring this one home and get straight to work. Little did I know that I would find some struggles along the way.

Those struggles led me to this amazing community through the Facebook page and now I have somewhere to share thoughts and ideas! So a win overall!

Rolife community and customer support has been nothing but kind and patient to me in my mistakes and I am so thankful for you all, I can’t wait to keep creating more meaningful creations to add to my collection!

My crafting story is..Before i lost my dog charlie i was searching for hobbies to do so im not bored in my day to day life. By then i knew charlie had heart failure, So i wanted to find a hobby that suits me that i can use to get my mind off the condition.

When i discovered rolife Through some ads i decided “Why not try it?” Even though ive never been into wooden crafting..or well even tried it. Soon enough i bought a few kits and tried them out..and i loved them!! Ever since ive bought even more kits and enjoyed them even when times are frustrating Or if im quite upset about something in the real world.

I cant thank rolife enough for what the Wooden puzzles did for my mental health and how well it made me cope with my Little charlies death.

The first meaningful Kit ive ever made is most likely the 1912 Atlantic Voyager as i used to sit in my living room and watch it as a child with my family, Sisters, brothers and Mom and dad..I loved when i was a child i had so much love…and this kit made me find that memory and cherish it forever

i got this kit as a Leaderboard prize, I always wanted a globe, but it was a harder build then a thought, it’s wasn’t an easy journey for me personally, it took me quit some time building it and finishing it, but I pushed thru and didn’t give up, when I finished it is was a big accomplishment for me personally and I am very proud I pushed thru with it and It has now a special place in my living room

Building kits has been with me through some of my hardest moments, and they have truly helped me keep going. What started as a hobby slowly became something much more important in my life. One especially meaningful moment was when I began customizing my kits and realized they could become so much more than what they first seemed to be. Another was when I started sharing this hobby with other people through meetups, because that turned it into something even bigger, more personal, and full of connection. That’s when I really understood how important this little world had become for me :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:.

My first miniature kit was during the pandemic. I’ve always been into painting and puzzles, but when my local store showcased a DIY miniature room, I immediately bought one. Then lockdown happened. Aside from painting by numbers, I started building the miniature I had purchased. It was challenging, and I wasn’t completely happy with the outcome, but I was glad I finished it. Later, while browsing social media, I saw a Super Creator post with kits stacked up on her wall. I was amazed, and my love for miniatures came alive again. At the time, I didn’t know where to get one. Then, during an amazing trip to Japan, I saw some miniature kits, though they were quite pricey. When we returned home, I discovered a shop featuring a book nook with a Sakura tree and a Japanese train. I immediately fell in love and bought it. That’s when I realized the brand was the same as the Super Creator I admired.

Now, the rest is history—I’ve collected a total of 18 kits, all from Robotime.

That’s cool! We are the same. My first kit is also the Sakura Densya. For the love of Japan :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

That’s such a great story—it really shows how your passion for building started early. That six‑legged robot sounds like a perfect spark; even if robotics was simpler back in 1998, the idea of creating something that could move and react must have felt magical.

That’s such a powerful moment. Finishing it must have felt like more than just completing a project—it was a way of lifting yourself out of the winter blues and creating something beautiful to carry forward.

That’s such a heartwarming story—you’ve turned your crafting hobby into something that not only strengthens your bond with your daughter but also inspires other families. It’s amazing that her therapist recognized how much progress she’s making through this, and even more touching that other parents are now curious and reaching out because of what you shared.

My building story started with the London Bus, which was my first kit.

At first, I was just trying to figure everything out and make sure I didn’t mess anything up, but I started to enjoy it more as I went. One part I really liked was finishing the bottom layer because of all the small details. It made the build feel more real and motivated me to keep going.

The build also took longer than I expected, which I actually liked because it gave me more time to work on it and see progress over time. By the end, I felt more comfortable with the process, and it made me want to try more kits after that.

I would love to win the Pompompurin kit because my sister loves him and I think it would be a really nice kit to build and enjoy with her. Good luck everybody!

I just loved reading this @khimmymade This is so meaningful and just warms my heart to be reminded of how your daughter has responded. and now most likely helping another family!

That’s such a wonderful reflection—it really shows how your first Rolife build became more than just a project. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

That’s such a touching story—you’ve shown how crafting became more than just a hobby, but a source of comfort and healing during such a difficult time. I love how you describe discovering Rolife through ads and giving it a try, even without prior experience, and then finding joy in the kits despite the frustrations.
