I wanted to discuss the Gramophone and the quality issues of the record playing. Has anyone found a way to make the sounds quality better? I would like to hear your ideas. I have a way to improve the sound and will showcase it soon when the items come in and the snow melts here in New England. It might be cheating but the realism and method is sound and ROKR/Rolife might want to consider this upgrade when I get it finished. I will make sure to showcase the steps for others to copy as well. I would say this will be on par with my seahorse rock on the ocean waves.
I have not made this one, but have read of others and their experience in playing records. It will be interesting to see what you came up with!
I am sure you will come up with something spectacular. Mine is a non-working (although beautiful) model. I made a huge mistake very early on that could not be undone.
I haven’t assembled it yet, but I’m really interested in knowing what components can help improve the sound quality. Thank you for sharing this helpful information.
I’m excited to see how you will improve the sound quality of the gramophone. ![]()
My son uses his but I haven’t heard it play so can’t comment on the sound quality. If you find a work around that is great.
I love how you did your seahorse ship. I can’t wait to see what you will do C with the gramaphone. I had that one to be built as well. And would love it sound smoothly as much as possible.
I have not built the gramophone but I’m curious how you’ll make the sound better. I look forward to your update.
Like many others in the comments I haven’t build this one yet, although I’m thinking of it as a future gift for my dad at some point (he LOVES that kind of music).
So I’ll be looking forward to any replies helping you here, or to see how you deal with that. Could you share a video of how it currently sounds? I don’t think I’ve heard it yet.
That sounds really interesting! I haven’t assembled the kit yet, so I can’t share any experience with the sound quality for now. I’m curious to see how your upgrade works out
Oh following! I have this in my stash but I haven’t built it yet. This will be useful because I’m sure my partner would love to tinker and upgrade the sound system for me. ![]()
I am going to cheat here. I watched this video and it gave me an idea to make this easier than this video. I feel bad about cutting and soldering is a different issue. I found a way to keep the record spinning and hopefully make it work in a dual function. I will not need to tinker in any of the connections as well. Long story short, I did not do this idea and make it seem so simple and fun. Goal is to get this done this weekend.
I built the gramophone, and the sound does indeed crackle. I tried a vinyl record from my mother, but the sound isn’t any better. I’m very curious about your upgrade.
Its cheating but the effect is real and makes it work.
