👍 [Beginner Tips] Gramophone Wood Puzzle-TG408

I got this cute little gramophone wooden box. This is just a display model but Robotime makes a real working Gramophone, as well.

It was a pretty simple build. Took a couple hours. I sat down and worked on it here and there.

I would say this kit is beginner friendly. It’s not too large or complex. The pieces are fairly sturdy. It has a little drawer in the base that you can put things in.

A lot of this kit uses these little wood tabs that need to be pressed in with the provided tool.

This is really nice! I didn’t know there was a smaller display model of this! :star_struck: I love the patterns on the timber everywhere, it’s really nice, great build and nice photos! Are you planning to paint or leave it as it is?

It turned out so cute! This little gramophone looks like such a fun and relaxing build, and the drawer is an adorable touch. Definitely a great beginner-friendly kit!

Really cute! If I need to press in tabs, I just use a small hammer.

I initially thought it was the working gramophone, I like how there’s a smaller display one too.

Yeah I tend to struggle with those little tabs so I got a small jewellery hammer just for this and it’s great!

I have a kalimba tuner. I think it’s the same.

The tabs were not bad. I just felt my review would be incomplete without mentioning them because they are used so often.

I don’t have plans to paint it at this time. Sorry I’ve not been painting any of my wood models. I just haven’t been in the right creative head space.

I did just have the cute idea of putting a little Bluetooth speaker in the drawer though.

Oh a kalimba tuner does seem like the perfect tool.

Yeah fair enough the little tabs are always utilised in the book nooks as well so I just wanted to make my life easier.

Oh yea. You would want a hammer for the bigger sturdier booknooks.

The tool they provide worked well for the gramophone. A hammer might have left dents in this softer wood.

It’s all good as long as we don’t try to use our poor fingers. :face_exhaling:

I’ve snapped a few of my fingernails in the progress so never again hahaha.

I don’t think everything needs to be painted. I quite like the natural wood :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

The Bluetooth speaker is an amazing idea!

I think I’m probably apologizing to myself as much as anyone. Because there has been a painting project that I have wanted to start for a while.

And I agree. Not everything needs be painted.

@SunnyCee I say it is your kit, your gramophone, do it any way you envision. I think it will be beautiful either way.

Looks like one of the older simpele models. It is indeed a good starter kit.

It is very attractive in person. I think a newbie could do this kit. Not very expensive, either.
