I’ve had many questions about whether the gramophone can actually play music.
The gramophone comes with a record that plays three songs. The sound isn’t very clear, and I thought that was part of it, since it’s a vintage gramophone.
I’ve now put a single on it to see if the sound is any better. What I noticed:
The 45 rpm setting is a bit too fast, so I ended up using 33 rpm.
The sound doesn’t stay clear.
The conclusion is that it’s a very nice piece of construction and looks great as a decoration. If you want to use it to actually play records, be aware that the sound isn’t clear.
I love this! Thanks so much for clearing up that question—I’ve always wondered about it too. It’s such a gorgeous piece, even if the sound isn’t perfect!
I was debating on just buying this to play my records but its sadly not as clear as i was hoping looks like im buying this and buying a nice record player
Mine turned out really well. I am still trying to figure out if I have made a MAJOR mistake in the beginning with that first O-ring or if I’m getting power or what…The handful of pages of instructions AFTER the build have me utterly confused.
@Nita_Davis at the back you see a little button next to where you plug in the USB (at the very bottom so not where the volume button is) if you convert it it will probably work
This build is very much fun to make, You won’t regret it. If you really want to play records, I’d buy a real phono player that will give you better sound.
This is one of my favorite builds so far it is really fun to make. It’s a difficult project to make, but it was one of my first builds. Just follow the instructions carefully, and you’ll be fine.
The build. Is it really big to hold a record? I thought it would be tiny. Just trying to picture all these things! Sometimes I feel a bit lost as these are all so new.
