Well! I didn’t have long this time, but it was enough to update the build a bit, basically putting the star and the round pieces with the “Raw Stock” cardboard on top of the tree and adding that glass cover to what I call “the toy process line”. It was a nice little step forward and it’s looking more like something now! I keep getting more and more excited about this. The trickiest part here, I think, was to properly give the end of the long cord of lights the “hooked” turn so it’ll properly go in that glass and it won’t bother the “toy” pieces while turning.
Speaking of which… One small sad thing happened. Before all this part I decided to give it a test and plug it in… And man, I forgot to look where the lightning cords were. Please, while you’re building this and until they’re properly set in their places, do NEVER turn this on without making sure were your lightning cords are. My long one was pretty close to the toy reel, and well… The cord is not broken, the lights still work, but it got twisted a bit in the reel before I realized it and one of the toys went flying never to be found again. I have no idea where it went (I mean, my house is not that big, c’mon, and is not a mess. Maybe one of those tiny elves came and stole it?). But I guess it could be worse, right? The reel could have broken, the lights could not be working any more, but everything is good and well and the only issue I’m gonna have is that, when everything is working, there will be an empty gap between two of the toys.

This just occurred to me…Maybe it fell downwards into the factory…??? I would definitely turn the thing upside down and give it a shake to see? You definitely do not want it stuck inside anywhere.
That’s actually the first thing I tried, but it doesn’t seem like it and there’s nothing suspiciously moving inside, or trying to get out when I turn it upside down and shake it.
Also, after the last update, I tried it and there’s nothing making weird sounds or interfering with the smoothness of the process.
Well, tbh I’m not sure if I’ll find it (or if I’ll be able to put it back if I do find it, since I won’t wait for it), but as I said, it could’ve been worse! And I’m happy with the process so far either way
Great progress! I had the same problem when i going to test the build the lightning string was wrapped all the way around the Christmas tree, causing everything to warp. Luckily, it didn’t cause any damage. Hopefully you can find the missing toy

I totally get your point, I would’ve been like that a couple of years back but I have limited time to build this and I like to enjoy it. If I end up finding the piece I’ll try to find a way to put it back in there, but it’s not the end of the world for me. It will be noticeable, yes. But it’ll still do the work and look amazing For better or worse I have better things to do than spending whichever amount of time trying to find a tiny piece of wood around my place
It would be different of course if it was something that you REALLY need in order to assemble this, but it’s not the case and the Factory can go on without one toy. It’s not perfect since the gap will still be there, but it’s doable

Gotta remember the process is part of the fun too.
Yeah, when things like that happen I get frustrated obviously, but I’ve learnt to move on and enjoy the process, learn from the things that happen, etc. It’s not the end orf the world! And like my grandma used to say, everything has a solution except for death. Also, if you can do something about it, go for it! And if you can’t, why should you worry?

You got lucky indeed. I had the last light on the string snap off when building the spaceshuttle at the near end and the lights didnt work. But when the metal cables touched each other thr lights came back on. So i twisted them together and it still works. Sometimes we get lucky. I hope you find your missing peace.
Oh no, that sounds like quite an adventure! I’m glad everything’s still working though, and your build is really coming together beautifully. Maybe that missing toy just decided to join Santa’s workshop early!
