I finally got more time in my hands! This time I was able to:
Finish the Raw Stock logo and structure on top of the Christmas tree
Properly close the Toy Production Line
Assemble the foundations of the top floor with those two cute tiny workers
The assembly was fun overall, and it was pretty fun to “play” with the string of lights around the holes in the pieces of the top floor between assembling them together. It’s starting to feel… Alive? Lovely! It really feels like I’m into the final stretch now.
I’m really, really enjoying this build! Can’t wait to show you the final results. But we have a long weekend in the capital of Spain incoming, so I won’t be able to keep building this until next week!
Oh, and…
Man…
PS: Remember that toy piece I’ve lost because it went flying when I tested the systems and didn’t realize the string of lights was next to the toy reel?
Good news: I’ve found it!
Bad news: It seems like it’s part of the Christmas Tree decoration now… Not sure how the heck am I supposed to recover it from here without disassemble half of the tree structure Well, the only good thing about this is that it’s stuck in the tree structure and won’t touch the gears, so it shouldn’t be a problem.
After all it seems like you were right all along, @Nita_Davis
Looking good already You’re at the same point as me. It’s really annoying that the piece is stuck under the Christmas tree. Maybe you can shake it out?
Yea, I’ve realized that! We’re page to page haha.
The thing is the structure is firmly closed now and it won’t even come up the small gap between the tree and the glass. It may be better to just leave it there… Idk.
It is such a fun build right? I had so much fun building mine too. And when I’m done, the feeling was bittersweet.
Good thing the toy didn’t touch the gears. I wouldn’t want to disassemble it too.
It is! I understand that bittesweet feeling, I had it already when I finished the Seahorse Barque. It’s like when you’re done with that book or TV series you’ve enjoyed so much, right? Like “I’m really willing to see the ending but my life feels a bit empty once it’s done, because what’s next?” haha
Yup, exactly. I’ve decided that my tiny Christmas tree has a hidden horse toy at the bottom
If I have to be completely honest it does annoy me a little to see it there, but the idea of the solution (which means disassemble all the Raw Stock structure and maybe the glass around the tree to remove it, and also the glass covering the toy reel in order to re-add the toy piece there) annoys me much more
Beautiful progress. You made me laugh there @TheToday . Even though it would be nice to have the horse where if’s meant to be but accident happens and it’s still work well. Glad you enjoy building it. This is such a popular build.
May as well leave it if you can’t disassembled them. You might end up breaking more pieces. So may as well leave it.
Otherwise there is a tool that @Terranoir123 recommended in the past that could help seperate the parts a lot easier.
I can’t seems to find the links but Peter can help send the links again. I can’t find it.
Im glad you found it. Almost contact the detectives her to help you search haha. Like liset said taking the top of is not hard. Nowing myself i would take it apart. Good of you tjat you are able to let it go.
Hahaha oh there it is glad you found the piece, although an annoying spot! Im not much further behind you on this one. I just finished the raw stock structure but i havent done the next part yet.
That’s such great progress! It really sounds like the whole build is coming to life now. I’m so glad you found the missing toy piece, even if it’s got a new “home” in the tree!
Well, I’ve been out for a long weekend until today, but… Hmmm. That’s interesting. I may give it a go! I’m still not sure what to do about it because it really means to remove the black cover and probably the glass at least as well (the toy is stuck between the two lower layers of the tree decorations and there’s not enough space between it and the glass for the piece to come down if I shake it), but I’ll check it closer later today and try to give it a go. Although I’d also need to re-open the glass covering the toy processing line, but hey, baby steps! If I end up doing any of it I’ll let you guys know.
I also took the Christmas tree apart. I didn’t need to remove the glass for this. I simply removed the top roof, took off the peak, and carefully pulled the tree up. Be sure to check carefully how you put it back together, as it only fits one way.
