I’m currently doing a Chinese kit that came with glue but I’ve found it needs a finer tip for what I’m doing.
Then I recalled that I had bought glue with a fine tip so I’ve put this into practice.
Here are some tips and tools I’ve gathered along the way.
The precision tip for glues. I generally use B7000 because of the needle tip but decided to try the glue in my current kit. It’s a good strong glue but there is no precision. So, I added the finer tip (as I’ve already said).
Quilling tool. I bought this pretty cheap because I didn’t want get glue all over my good tool. It’s great for rolling things like scrolls (you can always adjust how tight you roll), and paper plants.
I thought of showing you my sharp awl as well for piercing things, clearing the nozzle of glue bottles, and stabbing things when nothing goes right but thought that showing such a violent tool may not be allowed!!
@Carmie an emery board doing double duty for kits and nails might be the most honest builder tool tip of the day. Useful, cheap, and somehow always needed.
@Suzanne_Jones this is the kind of practical tool post builders quietly save for later. The precision glue tip, quilling tool, small scissors, and emery boards all solve very real tiny-build problems. The awl joke also feels painfully relatable on stubborn build days.
That’s a very good question…because I received a long nozzled bottled with a crafting kit that I won on IG. I have never put glue into it because I was afraid that might happen. @Tricia12
These are very useful tools. I usually have some sandpaper left from kits I made. I also keep a toothpick close because I that also can help me out in some situations.
