What’s Inside My Miniature Toolbox? ![]()

Every miniature world starts with a box of magic… and this is what’s hiding in mine ![]()
I thought I’d share what I keep in my toolbox, because honestly, the right tools make tiny worlds so much more fun to build.
First up—glue, glue, and more glue!
I keep three types of glue, each with a different personality:
-
A clean, light one for paper and stickers
-
A wetter one with stronger grip when things need extra hold
-
And a super-strong one for those “this must never move again” moments

Then come the pliers trio:
-
One for holding things tightly in place
-
One for cutting wire
-
And one for bending wire into neat little curves
For cutting, I’ve got options too:
-
Two scissors—one big for larger pieces, one delicate for tiny details
-
Plus a cutter for precision work
Precision is serious business in miniature life, so I also keep three tweezers, each with a different level of accuracy. There’s also a little tool just for poking holes (because somehow, there’s always a hole needed).
To keep everything smooth and tidy, I use:
-
Nail clippers, a nail file, and sandpaper for rough edges
-
A tea candle for wax work (yes, even miniatures deserve candle moments
)
For holding things in place:
-
A roll of low-tack tape that won’t damage surfaces
-
A few clips to keep pieces steady while glue dries
And finally, two rulers in different sizes, because measuring tiny things still matters!
These are all the tools I use just for building.
All my painting and coloring tools will have to wait for another day—I’ll share those next time ![]()
That’s my toolbox—nothing fancy, but everything well-loved ![]()
Now I’m curious… what’s your must-have tool? Any special or unexpected tools you swear by? Share your tips—I’m always looking for new ideas to add to my box ![]()
