I think mine will be 2 of the most ridiculous once, it’s a tooth picker and a make up cotton

i use them all the time to remove the glue i putt on the wood to much and i call them simply glue removers, simply because they are the easiest way removing the glue between 2 pieces that you putt on to much

i remove 1 cotton from the make up cotton stick so it is easier to handle and when the used cotton is broken or dirty i trow it way and put the other one i removed ad first back on

Please say hello to Nicky. he is my favorite tool I have I purchased him last year around November after I started my journey into miniatures he has been there with me through thick and thin, hardships and triumphs!

I got him after my used xacto knife was cramping my hand, rolling everywhere and getting lost. Also because I am left handed, while using an xacto knife my grip would actually loosen the threads that held the blade in and it would fall out and I needed a better solution
Enter Nicky. he doesn’t roll. he doesn’t become loose. he’s stable, ever ready and up for a challenge ! When I need an edge smoother than sandpaper , his ever sharp blade deals with it! a stubborn part won’t go where it needs to? HA! Nicky does the intimidating and makes that part know who’s the boss!

If after sanding and the part isn’t clean enough or I have a 3d printed piece that has a jagged edge, you know who I call? Nope, not the Ghostbusters, it’s Nicky.

If I ever lose this guy, my craft will suffer. men will weep, Women will wail , and children will cry.

Get yourself a Nicky and count your blessings friend! Because my life has been nothing but problems solved since I got him

@Sofie_Vanderbeken I’d borrow this tool (s) for sure. The toothpick is a needed tool and really the cheapest you’ll ever find. The makeup tool…. I don’t know if the women in my house would let me use one, or how I would explain it to them, but if it happens, your the first to know!

I have two tools that I use the most. Whenever I start building, I always make sure I have a good piece of sandpaper and some brown colored pencils near me. I use both of them to clean up the edge of the pieces. When I pop out the pieces from the wooden sheets, they often have little nubs left on them from being attached to the sheet. To get rid of them and give the build a more polished look, I often sand them smooth and then color in the edges with a brown colored pencil where the edge coloring might be a bit bare. It’s the perfect method for getting smooth, even edges that still look like the natural wood. I also don’t have to worry about color matching because the colored pencil blends perfectly into the wooden edges. I don’t really have a nickname for these tools but I just love using them because they’re so simple and easy to find yet so effective. If I had to give my tools a badge, they’d definitely be Detail Detectives.

I also have a razor knife similar to this one. It’s not as ergonomic but it was extremely cheap and has remained very sharp these past few years.

@Grey74 well i something use them also to put ointment on a wound the make up sticks, so they are pretty useful for things besides make up

Oh, these are such interesting tools! I also use a wooden skewer for the same reason. I hadn’t though of using a makeup cotton stick though. It would definitely be a good tool for cleaning up glue! I usually just use a paper towel but the cotton stick would be more precise.

@Zoe_Lau i think I got it for around $16? It fits perfectly in my hand and I can’t go back to the other pencil style knives anymore lol

Mine would most definetly be B7000 glue and Tweezers! I always use B7000 glue in every single build because i think it holds pieces together very well way better than Elmers glue or Crafting glue i think.

Sometimes for Bigger heavier pieces i use Gorilla glue for extra strength! For example i used it in my Customized Sakura treehouse Xx

And lastly i always use tweezers! The best tool needed for a Good crafting session when you dont feel like getting your fingers messy

For me, the tool that has helped me throughout my model-making career is the magic bottle. That’s what I call my glue bottle. I still remember the time when I was first assembling something; the parts were small, but the glue bottle’s opening was too big. Everything was messy and stuck together in large clumps, looking terrible. After using it, everything became much easier; you could get the right amount of glue in the right place. Even now, when most models use adhesive tape, I still prefer using this glue bottle.

This is Mr. Whammy! It’s very useful for me especially when putting together tough parts. It was a gift from my husband, who is very supportive to my crafting. Now he even bought me a working table.

Hahaha, the name is simple: my pink tweezers.

I love using it because it’s very handy; the tips are very fine, so I can quickly peel off stickers or adhesive tabs, pick up things that have fallen or gotten stuck, place delicate items, and so on—it’s really useful.
