Hi fellow rokr/rolife community, please help me figure out why this lifting mechanism failed 
this is my second try and i really dont wish to tear it down again

Try sharing a photos of the actual integration of the two parts that must be installed correctly to drive it up and down. Ok your video shows it does not move. However it does not allow anyone to see what is not installed correctly to help you solve the build mistake.
When it moves downward, it relies mainly on gravity, so please apply wax for lubrication to the areas marked in the pictures.

Did you perhaps tighten it too much?
like robotime said. i would sand and wax the backside of the part that is not dropping and the wall behind it and check if the plastic isn’t pushed to tight
Mine had too much wax but that doesn’t mean that’s the problem ur having as I use liquid wax not the block X
