My neighbor asked me to open up the fence where this baby fawn was born - 2 days ago.

The mother must have jumped the short fence, had her. I had to go open up the fence so she could get back in. We just fed the mother this morning.

Ohh so they do get friendly sometimes. That’s sweet. The ones in Nara, Japan were scary to try touching because some were aggressive.

My inlaws had a fawn dropped on their outside stairs to porch. We learned that moms will drop them and be gone for hours and sometimes a day. They say to leave be even though you may want to help. Opening gate so mom can get back to her easier was a good idea. Makes you wonder what they are thinking sometimes. My sister who lived outside Houston, had one jump the fence and drop in her yard. ok, but she had 4 dogs ion the yard! She had to bring the dogs out front til mom came and took fawn. For some reason I think in both cases it was 2 or so days

There is a deer park in the Wisconsin dells that you can go in and the deer wander free. They all bombard you to feed them. Plenty to touch for sure. Not many interested in a hug though!
