:seedling: About the International Day for Biological Diversity

The International Day for Biological Diversity is observed on May 22 annually. Founded by the United Nations, it honors the adoption of the Convention on Biological Diversity in 1992. The date was changed from December to May 22 in 2001 to encourage worldwide public participation in ecological conservation.

Biodiversity includes diverse species, genetic resources and natural ecosystems. It supports human survival by providing food, fresh water, clean air and medicines, and keeps the global ecology balanced and stable. Currently, human activities such as pollution, deforestation and over-exploitation have severely damaged natural environments, pushing many species close to extinction.

The 2026 theme “Acting Locally for Global Impact” reminds people that every small effort counts. Protecting biodiversity is everyone’s duty. Through low-carbon lifestyles and eco-friendly habits, we can protect wildlife and maintain sustainable development of the planet.

Let’s celebrate biodiversity in the most whimsical way~:honeybee:
We can’t wait to see what tiny creatures will appear in your mini worlds this Whimsical Thursday :butterfly::snail::sparkles:

I would choose a Goldfish inside my Carnival Tv since you used to be able to win goldfish at the carnivals

This would bring a story about how carnivals used to have Little fish as a Prize! I used to win them as a kid and i do miss them lol

Mine would be the Japanese nine-tailed fox.

It lives perfectly well in my Japanese kits; that’s where it adapts best.

:sparkles: A Cute Little White Fox Story :sparkles:

In a forest blanketed in pink snow lived Yuki, a tiny nine-tailed fox so white he looked like he was made of snowflakes. Every morning, his golden bell jingled cheerfully as he hopped among the frosted flowers to awaken the sleeping petals.

One day, Yuki found a star that had fallen from the sky. It was as small as he was, and shivering with cold. With his soft tails, he wrapped it up and carried it to his den, where the warmth of his heart made it shine again. From then on, the star floated on his bell, lighting his way and filling the forest with pink sparkles every time Yuki laughed.

They say that if you hear a golden bell in the snow, it’s Yuki playing with his star, reminding us that even the smallest things can bring light to the world. :cherry_blossom:

Whimsical thursday story !
perfectly set in the Garden Afternoon Tea room. The tiny porcelain cups were filled with the finest Earl Grey, the microscopic cakes were piled high with sponge and buttercream the resin-cast strawberrys was glistening beautifully under the morning sun .Everything was in its absolute, perfect place.

Or so I thought.

Just as the grandfather clock struck three, a rustle came from the miniature rose bushes. Forget the usual polite chatter—today, we had a gatecrasher!

Meet Cyril the Squirrel, our newest, fluffiest, and slightly oversized VIP guest.

Cyril didn’t care much for the delicate etiquette of a British afternoon tea. While he was a bit too large to fit into the wicker chairs, he decided the rooftop garden was the perfect place to perch. With a twitch of his tail and a mischievous glint in his black-bead eyes, he’s been eyeing up the the delicious cake sat on the beautifull tea trolley ever since he arrived.!

I suppose when you build a garden this cozy and detailed, you can’t blame the local wildlife for wanting to move right in!

Happy Thursday, fellow crafters!Sometimes the best part of finishing a beautiful Robotime kit is adding that little touch of personal magic that tells a different story each time !

Some butterflies and birds would be a nice addition to my Miller’s Garden. I can imagine sitting and reading a book while hearing the birds singing. It would be wonderful to see the butterflies fluttering their beautiful wings from one colorful flower to the other.

Mine would be a capybara. He sits proudly on the counter surrounded by shelves of tiny books, steaming cups, and glowing lanterns. :beaver:

For my tiny creature, I chose a hedgehog living deep in a peaceful woodland world. :hedgehog::herb:

What creature would I choose? A tiny hedgehog, because they feel both adorable and quietly magical in a forest setting.

Where would it live in my mini world? My hedgehog would live beside a small woodland stream hidden under mossy rocks, wildflowers, and soft green ferns. A tiny waterfall keeps the water moving while fallen branches and thick ground cover create safe little hiding places.

What little story would it bring? Each evening, the hedgehog comes down to the stream for a drink before beginning its nightly adventure through the forest floor. It quietly explores beneath flowers and mushrooms, helping keep the tiny woodland alive and balanced. Most visitors would probably walk right past without ever noticing the little guardian of the stream. :sparkles:

I would choose a cute little raccoon with a tiny mask, committing a nighttime heist in a bank. She scaled down a rope from a hole in the ceiling. I would include a bank vault with piles of acorns ready for the taking (it is whimsical so the currency is acorns ). I think raccoons are just the cutest.

Love this! I would choose a sea otter!! :otter: his name is Charles and has a family. The scene would be both he and his wife Marge (she’s very loving) holding hands while sleeping in a calm beautiful bay in California. The moon reflects off the water as boats are docked in their piers. Calm, beautiful and all the while below in the ocean a family of fish swim in a school amongst the seaweed. Sea horses float lazily and the crabs below search for food. That is how I would love to see it come to life as I am sure this exists somewhere in this beautiful world.
