Future City MR02S and MRL01 Lift Bad motor assembly

I recently received this marble run for xmas and was very excited to assemble it. I finished the actual marble run display but I just recently started the marble lift assembly. I have gotten about 1/2 way and have run into an annoying problem. The motor for the lift itself appears to have shipped miss-configured. The attachment point at the end of the motor is set at the wrong angle and so I can not insert it into the gear without orienting the motor sideways. This causes the retention bracket to not go on straight and I cannot properly screw it down. See attached images. I have tried to manually turn drive in the motor to get it to align to the right position but it will not move and I do not want to break it.

Welcome to the community. Sorry I haven’t buikd thus before so I couldn’t help. Hope @CustomerService will be able to help you with it.

After re-viewing the instructions and looking at my finished assembly it appears that the sideways orientation of the motor may be ok. I was just apprehensive because the screws don’t quite fit properly in that setup, but I suppose it will work fine. I’m gonna move on with it as is.. hopefully it will be fine.

Customer Service will be on holiday until after the 24th or so. Have you tried attaching the motor to power so that it can turn and then stop it in the correct position?

I don’t really know how to do that if I’m being honest, I don’t know the voltage or anything like that..

I hope @CustomerService or @Robotime can help here!

It won’t shock you or anything. I would attach the plug in to the switch board. Plug it into whatever power source you have and then set it into the hole. Unplug the power when it reaches the spot you need it to be…or you can do so while looking at it. I have not done this particular model…but I am assuming you ran a test on the motor before assembly? That is probably why it is a bit off?

…but they are on holiday…

Did not run a test, that is how the motor was from the package. Anyway, it works.. so no problem, all is good.

Well here it is working just fine. I find the balls sometimes leave the track for no obvious reason but other than that I’m happy with it. Neat little project for sure.
