My gears won’t move. Is it a problem with the motor?
Welcome @Ening
I have not yet built that but this is what I have read regarding mechanical ones, they come with some kind of wax and you must use generously. I know several others have built this so hopefully they can assist you better!
Robotime made this post about it, maybe it can help you ![]()

I knew one of you would come to the rescue for them!
Thanks @camila_castro for being there. So many on here are so helpful!
Welcome @Ening . I couldn’t view your video. Sanding and waxing is of utmost importance in any model with gears. Did your motor test okay in the beginning? Have you checked during each step to make sure that your gears are engaged?
Did you sand the side if the gears and the wall of the board of the side? Maybe tighten the screw some more. It looks like it works when your finger is on it but not when you lift it.
Welcome to the group @Ening . Sorry I haven’t build this one yet, but I have build other kits with gears, it is super important and to sand and wax it properly otherwise it won’t run smoothly.
It’s the tightest I could go with the screws. I’m not sure why it still isn’t working ![]()
Yes. Motor is working and gears are engaged. It moves when I press it down but doesn’t move when I don’t.
Thank you for the warm welcome and help
There are three stages in the start button. One for full engagement of lights, sound movement. one for only lights and sound and another for it to be turned off. Are you just pressing and holding the button. That turns it off @Ening It only takes a slight ouch to go in between stages.

Maybe take it out and put some wax in the grooves of the screw and tighten it again. And make sure to sand and wax the side of the gears and wall
Maybe you did not attach that gear to the motor properly. I had the same problem with the sunset carnival Rokr.
I looked at the film again several times but it looks like the screw is not fully screwed in. And that maybe why it stopped turning when you let go. Take the screw out and put the wax on the screw and fully turn it in.
Oh no. I pressed just once and lights and sound turns on, there is also sound from the motor meaning that it’s working. But the gears won’t shift unless I press it
Somehow I’m not sure if it’s because it’s not tightened enough. I took out the gear and the motor still doesn’t turn unless I press it. This video might explain it better
Ita difficult to say as the video is really short, but it looks like when you press is the screwand the piece of round wood goes further into the electric motor. Looks like there is something wrong there. Ill have a look in the book of i can find a reason why this is happening
