Today’s post is full of details, which is easily my favorite part of building. I really enjoy focusing on all the tiny parts (not you, plants) and then assembling everything in the final stages.
So here’s the bar counter! It’s probably my favourite part of the build so far. The original kit was green, but I decided to go with brown and added some Studio Ghibli posters. I took a bunch of close-up shots, since I know I’ll hardly ever see all the details once it’s behind the wall.
I also swapped out the bright yellow fabric on the coffee table for a muted green. With the walls already painted yellow, it felt a bit too much. Yellow isn’t a colour I would normally choose but the building I took inspiration from is yellow.
I transformed my blue sunhat from the Mini Maker’s Challenge into a straw hat inspired by Howl’s Moving Castle. Here’s a reference photo - close enough!
Thank you so much if you made it to the end of my long post. I’m just in love with all the details! This post also serves as my visual diary and I couldn’t help but include it all to share the joy I feel!
Miniature posters are homemade printouts featuring Studio Ghibli fan artwork found via Google and Pinterest, used for non-commercial, decorative purposes only. All rights belong to the original artists and Studio Ghibli.
as details lover myself I can’t get enough of them the lolipops, the cake and kitchen utensils please they’re so cute and the brown turned out so perfect even swapping the tablecloth, I absolutely adored the ghibli menu and don’t get me started on how each poster fit perfectly I can’t wait for you to finish so that you can show us the final result I’M SO EXCITED!!
WOW! You have done so much with this one and it is looking so good. I just love everything about it. I also love how you excluded the plants from being your favorites.. LOL
I dont even know what studio ghibli is but I hear you guys talking about it all the time. I love that you brought this into your kit. Your details are really special now! and more meaningful for you! I love that you converted some other things like the hat.
and I am like you. Sometimes I just need to change something to make it more to my taste, like wall color, or floor, or furniture!
Hahahah thanks girl! I’m really proud of the poster too it’s so fun to measure and print them! If you ever want to customise your prints I’m more than happy to help you out.
Thank you so much! Hahaha gotta be loud and proud when it comes to my dislike for plants. I honestly would be so happy if they started making more older style kits with pre-cut plants.
Thank you Jeanne! Studio Ghibli is a Japanese animation company, like Disney. I was definitely inspired and encouraged from seeing your builds where you add your own twist to it!
