Another update for my current build! Progress is slow as I’ve been busy and also overthinking every step of my customisation but victory is near!
For those of you who don’t know, the printouts are from my favourite Japanese animation studio Studio Ghibli. I’ve included artwork from Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle here.
Please tell me I’m a genius for hanging my tools here to let the glue dry. Micropore tape was the perfect size!
All the tiny parts, before they’re made into teapots!
I ditched the fabric that came with the kit and used my own. I’m using fabric from Japan, it was actually a gift from a friend who knows I love DIY and crafting. It has little Japanese pinwheels on it.
I didn’t like the blue legs of the table so I painted them silver. Painting metal was really hard, even after sanding the surface, but I made it work after a gazillion coats.
That’s it for tonight. Those small, tiny details really took up a lot of my time. I’m nearly finished but next up is making all the plants.

Are the photos printed or are you the one who drew that? Your customization is so brilliant. Your ideas really amaze me. It’s so hard to customize something but you really doing great for this one. I can feel your love for the movie Ghibli.

Believe me when I tell you you’re not only a genius for hanging your tools to let the glue dry, but also for the Ghibli ideas! I mean, woooowww!! I’ve already noted so many tips and ideas, and they’ll definitely be part of my future builds!

Oh my! Those details are tiny! I think I’m going to stay away from this kit hahaha but you did a great job with all of it. Genius idea indeed by hanging the tools to dry.
I’m so happy of all your Ghibli customization
I’m excited to see it all come together

Everything here looks amazing. Your attention to details is spot on…and I also use paperclips and stuff to hang things to dry.

Wow, that looks like a lot of work. But the tiny parts like this usually do so in these kits. Smart thinking with the tape. The table and teapots turned out great.

Thank you!
I thought about painting the teapots so they’re different colours but it was so small and the surface was too smooth I was like nope!
It’s part of the stack that I printed out before hahaha.
I can’t draw to save my life! It’s already taking me so much brain power to customise because I’m not a very creative person. But I’ve seen your drawings and they’re amazing!
Thank you always!

Thank you Jill!
I never did like wirework until I found the right technique and glue hehe. Still don’t like making plants and that’s coming up next.
I hope it will turn out as what I’ve imagined in my head!

Thank you Nita!
I’m looking to buy those magnetic clips which will hopefully be more helpful.
They’re a lot of work but a lot of fun hehe!
Now that I’ve slept on it I’m not sure about the cloth on the table so I might change it.
