[DIY & Creativity] Painting my flowers

I’m definitely not a natural when it comes to these flowers. :joy::cherry_blossom:

I’ve seen beautiful results in here from others making these flowers… Buuut I’m too impatient, too heavy-handed, and I get frustrated way too easily. The petals wouldn’t stay in place, they kept falling onto the floor, and I managed to break quite a few of them along the way. In the end, I had to bring out the super glue more than I had planned.

Since there were a few broken edges and some tiny spots of glue, I decided to experiment instead of trying to hide them. I started painting the flowers in a soft old romantic style. It was a bit tricky painting the rose petals after they were already assembled, but I actually had a lot of fun playing with the colors.:cherry_blossom:

I love the shade of pink that you’ve picked. It’s beautiful, not a strong color.

The Camellia is actually the hardest one I made from Rowood. I remember my fingers got sore from pushing the pieces.

I think you did great despite the challenges you faced. Well done @Tinybysiw

this looks lovely! I found that those camelia petals can be tricky. I found light sanding and waxing really helped

A lot of people break the petals—I’ve seen that mentioned quite a bit in the community.
They don’t look bad in that pale pink; what if you painted the center of each petal a darker pink shade, fading from intense to soft?
