Today I spent the afternoon with my husband watching videos on the TV while I worked on the other two flowers and the main stem of my poinsettia. My fingers are completely covered in red and green, and I’ve definitely spent way more time painting than actually assembling… but the result is so satisfying!!!
Next step should be the vase, but that will have to wait for another day. It’s late and tomorrow duty calls! I’m really enjoying this build, it’s simple, relaxing, and exactly what I need right now.
I also went for a walk today and saw real poinsettias at the Christmas stalls, so I’ve decided to paint the stamens a mix between yellow and green based on what I saw. Maybe when I finish everything, I’ll even give it a tiny touch of paint here and there.
Tell me it’s looking pretty… because I’m absolutely in love with how it’s turning out!
It’s looking great! The painting does take SO much more time….but I find it truly satisfying in the end… and it is unlike the same one that thousands of people own.

Thank you so much, @Nita_Davis. And yes, absolutely true. The time it would’ve taken to just assemble it is nothing compared to painting it, and I only did the edges!! But the result really makes it stand out, and honestly, the effort is worth it because it turns out so much prettier
