Hi there. I have two problems with my little bird. The kit went together fine. But:
Issue 1 -sometimes the bird doesn’t retract (or come out) all the way. This isn’t a huge issue as it usually fixes itself on the next one or two cuckoos.
Issue 2- this is more annoying, the little tab will pop out of the slot, and if that happens I have to dismantle the top of the clock, unscrew the bird house, re house the little tab and then reassemble the clock. It happens at least once a day so quite annoying.
Welcome to community. I noticed that the motor and the plastic sensor seem to be misaligned, causing this problem. However, I’m not entirely sure, so I tagged @CustomerService to help.
Oh my gosh I forgot the tiny screw in the top of the p5 part. That’s probably it thanks anyway, so excited to buy more sets considering how well they’re made and this lovely community!
I’m so happy that @ThaoNguyen was able to see your problem. You have only just begun. You must be meticulous in every step. I cross each step off as I go…after looking to make sure that mine matches the picture.
At this part of the build when you connect it to the building, the part with the metal wire’s underneath the bird that moves the doors may touch part of the yellow piece of the building, you can use the sandpaper to sand down the yellow part of the building a bit til the doors close smoothly, this is what I had done.
I’m really glad you were able to sort it out!
That issue sounded so frustrating, so it’s great to hear it’s working properly now. Enjoy your cuckoo clock!
②If the cuckoo isn’t retracting, try taking off these two metal connecting rods and testing it again. That way you can tell if the problem is inside the mechanism or with how the rods were installed.
