Can’t get cuckoo clock to chime. Just started

I have just started the Cuckoo Clock and I have fallen at the first hurdle of testing the hourly chime. There is no chime, no movement. I’ve taken it apart and started again from the beginning. Nothing. The lights will come on when I press the lever but no chime, just a soft whirring. Do I have a faulty model or am I doing/not doing something stupid?

Please run one isolated power test with USB power only, with the batteries removed, and tell us whether the chime and movement still fail.

· Remove all batteries, then power the clock from a 5V USB adapter or power bank.
· Press the lever and check whether the chime, hands and mechanism move.
· If the behavior is exactly the same on USB-only power, the unit is faulty and we will arrange a free replacement.

I hope your clock is working now. There area few factors that causes the bird doesn’t chime. For me I was the on/off button. Hold the stairs button the turn it on and off.

You have, thank you! I demonstrated it to somebody and replacement parts should arrive at the end of this week or beginning of next week.
