The cockoo clock was working fine, and then it stopped cuckooing. Ive tried the step button on/off, doesn’t make any difference. Changed batteries, no difference. It makes a click on the hour but doesn’t cockoo. It was not moved or jostled before the issue started. It simply stopped making a sound. Any suggestions?

Thank you for the detailed description. Since the clock still clicks on the hour but does not cuckoo, the timekeeping is working and the issue is most likely related to power supply or the cuckoo strike mechanism.
Please try this test first:
· Remove both batteries completely from the battery compartment.
· Connect the clock to a stable 5V USB power adapter (not a computer USB port) and run it on USB power only.
· Set the cuckoo ON/OFF switch to ON, then press the manual cuckoo button or wait for the next hour.
If the cuckoo works on USB power alone, the batteries or battery contacts were likely the cause. If it still only clicks, the cuckoo door or strike mechanism may need further inspection, and we will help you resolve it.

Welcome to the community, Robert! It’s frustrating when everything is working perfectly and then the cuckoo suddenly stops. Hopefully someone who has built this clock can share a troubleshooting tip and help get your little cuckoo singing again!

I find that even new batteries doesn’t hold enoug power for it. it has happended to me so when i plug the usb-c power in it was working fine. may be give that a go.
Welcome to the community. I’ve never been able to keep the Cuckoo going longer than a day or two on batteries. I use the usb-c, and it goes every hour on the hour. Try the usb-c and see if that helps.
