[WIP] Cozy Kitchen - The Walls And Painting Wooden Parts

Worked on the kit today and was only able to finish the 4 walls during the 1 hour free time that I had before our household became busy again.

Wanted to log my progress so I can dump photos and delete them on my phone (because my memory is full and this phone is already laggy )

Anyway, it took me so long to finish so much more in an hour because as usual, I wanted to paint the sides of the wooden parts. It just looks more refined with painted sides. For example, a before and after comparison of a few parts:

It might not look like much of a difference for some, but for me, that is already so much improvement haha. I don’t really hate seeing the wooden edges I however love to see fully painted edges so if I have to choose, painting the edges all the way! :star_struck:

I got these cheap markers with soft brush ends from Taobao and it’s been helping me a lot since I started painting the wooden parts. :star_struck:

I’m a very messy person, my table is very cluttered, so working with acrylic markers is a life-saver to bow make my already messy table even messier. :sob:

Anyway, here are the 4 walls that I managed to squeeze in my 1 hour free time haha. Bow I’m off to Mommy and Auntie duties as we are prepping a surprise birthday party for my nephew in McDonald’s and we’ll be going out on an outing/swimming as a big extended family again. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

The next part is some minor electrical wirings for the light so I kinda got that as a sign to stop before I get time blindness again.

Smell you soon!

Great progress already @khimmymade

I can totally relate with painting the edges. It really makes a difference if you see it up close

Right? Just a little detail but gives so much more finesse to the whole kit. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Excited to continue this when I get back home on Saturday. :star_struck:

I am like you. I prefer painted edges. I am ok with the wooden but I prefer the paint!

It just really makes the whole look so much better with the painted edges! :sparkling_heart::sparkling_heart::sparkling_heart:

ooh exciting!! Thank you for sharing this! I love your process and that you have made it your own. Household time takes precedence and I love that you take time away to attend to those things. Keep it up!

I have to admit they look much nicer painted, but it’s true that I don’t do it.

Thank you so much! I’m excited to continue building it over the weekends! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

And that’s definitely okay too. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I don’t always do this kind of extra step sometimes but if I have the time, I do it. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Haha thank you! Feel so seen that I am not alone. I’m bot a very big fan of setting up painting with actual acrylic paint because then I need to clean the dish and clean the brushes and clean my table hahaha so many things to clean. That’s why using acrylic markers is so much more convenient because you remove the cover, use it directly then cover, no extra mess done. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

It’s actually just a generic China version haha. I don’t have the money for the branded ones. I just want lots of options for colors in a convenient way but still affordable haha.
