So, I’ve already mentioned that someone bought this kit for me off of eBay from someone who had apparently tried to build this, but broke lots of pieces and I’m also missing lots of items.. First thing this morning I encountered more of those same issues. I was supposed to make a patio table and chairs with an umbrella. The chairs and table were black wood that was missing parts and a lot were broken.
So I don’t know if you all are familiar with the Zuru Mini Brands Home Series? I collect those and remembered that I had a table and chairs that I might be able to adapt to use as the patio furniture. Here is the picture of what the tall stool looked like before I cut the legs shorter and then the white/green chairs are the results.
Then I used a table from the mini brands items and painted the legs to match the chair cushions and the umbrella that I got in a drink at a restaurant recently.
Here is the after picture result. I painted the cups to bring out the red in the umbrella. There is a light up inside the umbrella that will be hooked up during final assembly.
Another issue I came across this morning was missing parts that I needed for some exterior wall lights. I happened to have a really cool cutter that I hadn’t used before, so I got it out and made the parts that I needed.
After cutting out the pieces and also drilling a hole in the center of one of them, I painted them black to match the other pieces. Here is the final result… they will attach to an exterior wall of the house.
Also…a fun fact…this house has 20 lights!!! That is the most I’ve ever had to do in one build.
I love this house! (for those of you that don’t know what I’m currently building, this is the house…
That is such a bummer about all of the broken parts. You are making the best of it all. I love your next patio set and the Bday dessert topper fits perfectly. Your light is amazing! I searched for this kit and it can no longer be found so you are lucky to have had the chance to do it. Well, (sort of), I guess. It’s going to be fabulous!
So sad to read that! That’s one of many reasons why I don’t buy kits from any of those places. The houses look amazing and super detailed though, super nice and inspired work you’ve done there!
@Nita_Davis thank you! Don’t give up looking! It shows up on eBay every once in a a great while. It is still found in other countries so hopefully one will come your way.
@TheToday thank you! I have purchased many many kits from eBay, but I only buy kits that are brand new….this kit was bought for me by a kind stranger who knew I had been looking for it. Even with the difficulties, I feel grateful to have this build to work on!
I’m glad this kit is not dampening your mood one bit with all those broken pieces.
You’re so innovative to use your Zuru toys and good thing they’re the size that you needed. They are looking so good with that umbrella from your birthday dinner
