[User Review] Corner bookstore update 2

I can honestly say this was not my favorite build. As I said before, nearly every piece I touched splintered or split or cracked. I got to the point where every tab was waxed prior to snapping. And each needed it!
I thought I would be done today, but it does not look that way. Here are some pics of the little details.

I painted several more objects and still have alot of edges on the building.I stole an idea from Michelle ( @mchipman but went with some greys.
I am near the end and know it will look great when I am done and then I will love it!

So many details. They’re all so lovely.

Thank you. I changed a few colors as I wanted things to coordinate a little more.

Thanks! As I looked at my pictures I started to feel a bit better. The best thing is, I know how to fix what breaks!

Thanks Tricia. After taking the pics, I thought I would start to place some things and what happens? I broke something else! LOL. Good news is that I am able to know how to fix!

Ooh. I really like your painting. It looks great.
I’m sorry that you aren’t enjoying this. I loved mine even with the amount of sanding that I had to do.

Oh no! I’m sorry it’s taking a lot of sanding effort and turning a bit frustrating. The good side of this is that you’re making it happen anyway, fixing things and putting your best effort into it. And it looks like it’s paying off. It may seem like a tuff journey but you’re overcoming it! You should be proud of yourself.

Wow, it has so many tiny details!

One question: what does “waxing” mean to prevent breakage?

Maybe you just need to step back for awhile to get back into your groove. And breath…

But all the small items still look good. You’re doing great @jeanneL

Wow - your painting is really adding so much. Sorry this one is frustrating, but you certainly cannot tell from how beautiful it’s turning out!

I am tough and will survive this LOL. Just when I thought I was in the clear, it was time to place the scissor legged table.and I was supposed to put the crate underneath. Bam cracked the legs. That was kind of on me.
I glued and will gently place this morning.

It reminds me that maybe I could do Doras loft OR that I should not bother! I am getting through and I think I will like it when done! Thanks!

waxing means just that. Taking a piece of wax and rubbing against the tabbed areas. This helps it to slide in to place easier. Sometimes we need to sand around the tab a tiny bit and then wax. It can save you heartache!
If you build any of the Factories, you will do this especially on the gears so they slide with each other easier!

Jill you are so right! I was not in the frame for sure. I wanted to build yet I did not. Stepping away would be better.
I will look today but nearing the end so I will be better!
Thank you!
I should put up a sign to remind me!

It’s OK to step away!

The extra effort you’re putting into the painting and fixing those splits is really showing! :artist_palette: It’s definitely a test of patience, but the results look beautiful so far. Hang in there! You’re almost at the part where you get to just sit back and admire it! :clinking_glasses:
