I am slowly working on the Amusement Park Book Nook. I only had one tiny break thus far and totally on me. Otherwise this is going together so well. Lights are not set yet so some details are not as easy to see.
I tried to get a few close ups. I have been painting a bit, touching up edges and adding some metallic but nothing too great!
More to come! The box says 4 hours. I guarantee I have spent a lot more than that. But some could be on me for painting.
Your Amusement Park Book Nook is coming together beautifully even with just one tiny break. The close ups really highlight your careful painting and metallic touches, which add such charm to the details. It is great to hear you are taking your time to perfect it, and I cannot wait to see the lights set up in the next update. Keep enjoying every minute, even if it takes a bit longer than the box suggests!
Hey, where’s the rush? This hobby is also about enjoying the process and taking our time
You’re doing great so far! And I’m curious too about how you’ve handled the curved window situation. I haven’t built this one yet but I’ve seen many people posting about that issue already
I think 4 hours is for those that just wanna build and display it.
I also take my time when I build. There is always a story whenever you build a kit. I always have this commitment to make my builds from love and sincere interest in the kit.
I tend to work, work, work on it for hours and bam I was done which was both exciting yet disappointing. Now what?
Now although I am still working on them for hours, I do take a little more time. I am enjoying the whole process. Often I leave in my craft room with me, for a few days. I then can enjoy and admire as I am completing another!
I had done one similar for another build. It actually went well! Both bottom and top. It did pop out once as I secured to the wall. I realized I missed an area to push a tab into.
The only thing on top was an issue with the airplane. The H sheet it came on was caught on something with packing. It appears the tab for the plane was torn so I could not get it to go into the slit. I just glued it there so issue fixed!
I put glue (B7000) in each slit on board. I then inserted window from the bottom up through the board. I Left it kind of upside down and on my clips to dry so it was pretty firm in there by the time I had to do the top. It was then not bad. Same thing with glue in slits for top. I did have to wiggle it a bit but all set.
Trust me, not complaining about time! I really like when it takes some time. I feel a bit deflated when it goes by so fast! I think one reason why I paint and decorate with the Super Creators! They do not go fast either. And when I am done, I am usually super pleased with the outcome!
Joy, I love the way you explained that. I agree.I am truly making with love and care and pride! and I want to do my very best! Thank you for this as it truly says what I think many of us feel!!!
