This has been a bit challenging of a build. The very first piece I put together split on the tab. This happened a few more times. Tabs are bigger than the slots. I finally started sanding and waxing each one to help. Thank goodness for this!
I have not finished painting all the edges but did paint a few other things. May need to make changes as I progress. I did not care for the bright orange facade so added some different colors to it. I think it will be ok.
I also did not care for the grey stone and there are like 4 different stones. I tried to blend but may be too much. I will know more once I start putting things in place.
This is already looking beautiful! I really like the color changes you made, it gives the shop a lot of character. Sometimes the builds can definitely be a little tricky with the tabs, but it’s always so satisfying once everything starts coming together.
I think once the rest of the details and lighting are in place it’s going to look amazing. I’m excited to see the next update!
I don’t know if it’s just me or if it’s true, but I’ve noticed that older kits are harder to remove and assemble. Newer kits have easier pieces to remove and assemble (not always, but most of the time). Maybe that’s it.
It’s looking fantastic so far! It’ll be even better once you start filling it with tiny little cute things. I’m glad you’ve been able to overcome the challenges through those first steps!
I did not look for a date. You wonder if the wood and things dont swell. This was from the craft store and they have a lot of the older versions so maybe this was?
