As you can see there are a lot of gears, so that means a lot of sanding and waxing. I want it to work as smooth as possible, so I won’t hold back on it.
But I have one question. It is a blank wooden model, beautiful on its own. I’m hestitant to color it since I’m afraid to overdo it.
I found a beautiful one on Facebook. With just some white and grey added.
I built this one a long time ago, so I don’t know if anything has improved since then, but I really suffered with the mechanism and the springs . You can definitely tell I was much more of a beginner back then than I am now.
And about the color, I think that kind of soft customization can look really pretty. If you keep it light like in your sample, it could add a nice touch without taking away the beauty of the wood.
I like subtle colors too. That’s why I loved the one I found on Facebook. I will have to make a study though which pieces are colored and which are not.
Thank you for your feedback. I have only worked on the gears until now. But I think the springs will give me a slight headache too. Just working on it step by step and then it will all work out fine I guess
Yes, that’s the best way to take it. What has to come will come, and you’ll deal with it when you get there, and who knows, maybe it won’t give you as much trouble as it gave me heheh
