Tonight I started with step 1 of the Magic Harp. As I look at the manual, I think there are 6 major steps. So I think, if I’m able to control myself , I will complete 1 step at a time.
Yesterday I showed my color options given by chat GPT (or at least the ones I liked).
I will not be able to create it exactly as the AI image, because I have to make do with the colors that I have. Now, I do have a large box of acrylic markers.
To determine which colors I would like to use, I selected all kinds of blue from the box and colored some swatches both on the dark and the light wood of the kit. But on the leftover wood. Like this:
That way I can make a good choice without ruining the pieces.
Because I like subtle colored kits, I will try to keep as close to the AI picture as possible, and still of lot of just bare wood color will be visible.
And as I said I completed the first step, which is the base of the harp. With the music box in it.
Here are the pictures after step 1, it’s getting dark outside and the lights in my house are not the best to get the correct look of the colors at the moment. I will make sure to make clearer pictures with one of the next steps.
It’s looking lovely. Great idea to test the markers against both colours of the wood first so that you can gauge which colours work best.
I’m looking forward to seeing your progress.
Hi Minus_88, testing the markers on both wood tones first is such a helpful tip. The soft blue direction for the Magic Harp already feels calm and elegant, and it will be exciting to watch each step come together.
Thank you @Grey74 it is my best purchase of the year so far. They have great covering and I have a lot of colors to choose from. Which also makes making a choice much harder sometimes
Thank you @Nita_Davis I think I made the right choice in colors and I hope, by doing one step at the time, I can complete this kit without too much struggle.
