Secured a Dream Gift Factory, Any Tips?

Building this ROKR kit with so many moving pieces, any tips on building this big kit?

I could not pass up the deal when I saw it pop up on the Market place while searching for furniture.

Got this Kit through Facebook Market place!!! I can’t believe it :face_holding_back_tears::face_holding_back_tears::face_holding_back_tears::sob:

Have you purchased a kit like this before?

Ohhhh you’re REALLY gonna love this one!

I’ve posted my whole process of building this, but here are my main tips coming from my own experience that could concentrate most of it in a few lines:

  • Wax. Wax everything the instructions tell you to wax. Spare no expenses. You want everything to move smoothly! And don’t worry, you may think you’ll run out of wax bar, but it’s more than enough for everything you have to wax here. Oh, and also wax tiny connection parts between pieces that seem small or fragile. It’ll help you to fit them without breaking them!
  • Test. Test a lot (meaning plugging your usb-C, touching the button and seeing the magic happening). I’d say test a lot more than what the manual prompts you to (don’t worry, you’ll get addicted to testing)
  • You’ll be moving and turning the wires of lights A LOT through the holes in the structure of the Factory while building it. Whenever you do a Factory test by plugging and turning on, before doing so be really, and I mean REALLY careful where your wires are hanging atm; you don’t want them getting stuck between gears or too close to the reel of toys. A disaster may happen!
  • Last but most important: HAVE FUN!

I’d say probably: wax the gears a lot for smoother movements also some parts are truly challenging when putting them in the right spots so definitely you need patience and this is kit specifically takes a lot of time so enjoy it to the fullest and good luck!!<3

@TheToday covered everything I can think of. Have fun @Orangesareus , it’s not really as hard as it looks from the beginning (I was overwhelmed opening it up lol), but the instructions are great. I really enjoyed this kit

It’s really nice kit. Tips:

  • wax the gears
  • check the electric
  • remove the pieces of wood carefully

This is the best one i have build so far. Be sure to sand and wax al the moving parts and the surface they move over. Like the piece that goes up and down needs to move freely. Make sure tje connectors are pushed all the way in and check regularly to see if it all still works.

Knowing me I will be testing these gears non stop. Any other tips to use besides the wax it came with, I have read some use Vaseline (petroleum jelly). I will make sure I sand everything, will bring out my metal sanding stick out for this one

@Jo_Zanella I am excited and slightly terrified to open it :joy: It says 12 hours to build, how long did it actually take you?

Congrats on securing this amazing kit! :star_struck: My biggest tip is: take it slow and don’t rush. I haven’t built it yet, but these kinds of builds definitely need their time!

Never uaed petroleum, because it can colour the wood. I have used talcum powder. That also can be used to lubricate but the wax stick is more then enough.

It took me a bit longer I think but I did a bit of painting. It looks overwhelming when you open it lol but honestly when you start step by step it’s not hard at all. Just go slow and steady. I’ve never done a moving kit, but I absolutely loved this one, it was a lot of fun @Orangesareus

This is a super fun build! I don’t remember all the tips but I posted my progress in this community, feel free to search it if you stumble into any issues.

Tricky parts are the conveyor belt, attaching the Christmas tree and stringing the lights.

I know you’ll do great with this kit. Have fun building
