The flying chairs from the amusement parc: HELP!

Hi there,

I wanted to build the flying chairs of the magic amusements park, a lovely music box. I thought it would be easier and faster than assembling the dream coffee factory, but what was supposed to be an enchanted model turned into a nightmare…

First, I have plugged everything well, and after having made the column with glasses, I realized that the motor and the music worked well while the column wasn’t properly connected. The carousel didn’t turn because I had badly assembled it. After having dismantled the whole kit, I realized that some pieces were not positioned at the right place on the disk.

So I have repaired and assembled almost the whole model.

  1. But, yesterday morning, I wanted to listen to the music and see how beautiful this carousel was.

However, this time, lights of the kit have barely shined (a seconde), without music and barely turn. I was about to finish the whole model but I hadn’t checked whether the motor could function.

So, I have disassembled today almost the whole model (again) and see that my problems came from the electric system. No music, barely a move and no light. I don’t know how it has happened.

I have checked all the cable and I think that an electric short-circuit happened. But where? That might come from the box connected to all the cables. And, concerning the blue and black cables, I don’t think I have damaged them (refer to pictures):sob:.

Has anyone been concern by this problem? @Robotime or/and the service customer, would you have any idea about what can I do?

Thanks :folded_hands:

They are usually very durable. You can check the functionality of each one, or contact @CustomerService

Omg sounds like a bit of a nightmare. Have you googled to see if there is a troubleshooting video?

I know how it’s frustrating to disassemble the kits twice. Omg I hope your issues will resolve soon. Did you check the wires if they’re connected properly and has no loose connection?

So sad that it’s not working as it should. Did you wax all the gears properly? I hope you find the problem soon and can fix it.

I have properly add wax on the toothed wheels. When I had disassembled the whole model for the second time, all the electric parts moved one second except the sound.

First time, the upper and lower parts weren’t connected as I had put an extra piece under the metal disc. But when I move one of wooden ring above the ring, I have been able to turn the wheels but I should have checked the motor before assembling the whole kit.

You have to touch the on and off button very briefly and carefully (just like a touchscreen). If you do this for too long, it won’t work. But I think it’s due to the electronics, and then you can only replace it. Hopefully, Robotime has a good tip for you.

oh no. This is depressing. I am not sure where the problem is, I have finished it already but did not face any problems. Maybe the gear should be align to the space between another gear? I dont know really. Hoping customer service can assist you.

Be sure to read Lisets post! When I first tested the Dream Factory I too did not think it worked. I found I was not touching, I was pushing. All I needed was a gentle tap. I have not done this particular build so I do not see instructions. Go back and read the testing carefully and read what Liset posted.

@jeanneL, when a cable barely touched a little bit the on/off of the switch, the motorized circuit immediately turned et kept on turning.

When I pushed it longer, it was still working.

But now, even having barely touched it or longer, a slight sound like a « crrrrrr » occurs, the light just shines a second such as the motor, but no music.

I have sent a message to @CustomerService to ask them what would be the origin of that noise. But I suspect a short-circuit in the beige box.

Thanks a lot dear crafters for giving me advices.

Now, let’s wait the @CustomerService answer.

Cheers

Maybe Robotime can replace the motor. :< Just send them a pm. They’re very accomodating to help you fix the issues.

From what you are describing I think you need a part replacement with the electronic component.
