It is with much heaviness i my heart that I have to announce the temporary death of my Amusement park. It had passed every test! The Carnival was sparkling. The final wall went up! And then… the final test. I plugged her in and what to my dismay? No Carnival lights.
I plugged and unplugged and plugged again. I had some lights, but nothing at the Merry-go-round.
Saddened, I removed the back and gently inspected. I performed a soft CPR. A flicker… and then nothing.
Nothing but a broken wire in my hand.
I further disassembled with the hopes of an AED (aka Customer Service)
I contacted 911 and am hoping for a response.
Looks like she will be on hold until AED arrives.
Oh Alice I so badly wish that was the case. But it literally came off in my hand. I almost with it was the other kind of light. I could have borrowed one from another kit until replacement. But of course this is the strip and it flashes. I am so sad. I set it in a box and am trying to decide if I even want to start another.
Awh dont give up on it because of one simple damaged Wire! Yes it will take a few weeks to receive it but you can start a few small kits untill then. I have yet to come across a broken wire but if i did i would start a small kit
Oh no! As Alice said I also love how you handled the post, but I can understand it was a frustrating moment. So sorry for you and your build! I truly hope you can have proper replacements soon so you can keep going with this amazing kit.
Do you know what you’ll be building in the meantime? I hope the emergency services give you some feedback soon.
Oh no. At first I thought there were something wrong with my lights as well but I kept going and it worked perfectly. I hope you will get your replacement soon so you can complete it.
Oh no! A Code Blue at the Amusement Park! It’s always that one tiny wire hiding in the back that decides to retire early. Disassembling a finished kit feels like surgery, but you’re doing the right thing by waiting for the experts to send the organ replacements. Maybe the Merry-Go-Round just needs a little vacation while you wait for the parts?
Oh no! I understand the feeling. I had the same with a kit from another brand, luckily a very cheap one and not that nice looking, so I just threw it away. I hope you get response soon and you’re able to replace it to get it working again.
