Here is my wooden blooming box. This one was mostly a lot of fun to do. The Sakura’s gave me a lot of problems but everything is back in place with the help of super glue. The test piece that I did with the black and gold turned out well but I was afraid to do the black on the book. I did the same process though by sealing the book with lacquer, sanded and added another coat of laquer. Next, I brushed all of the gold into the crevices really good and immediately wiped it off. I think if I had done it in the black it would have looked much better but I was a little scared because the indentations on the MDF don’t appear to be as deep as they are on real wood. I’m still pretty happy with the outcome. I had spilled a bit of paint on the back part of the book so I ended up flipping that paper piece over and putting my butterflies on it for the middle of the book. I really like the gold accents here. On the little part I circled…that is where a lot of writing on the back side of the page showed up so I had to paint a little strip of paper sky blue and glue it on there…LOL!

Wow first off I had to go look up the original so I can compare. 
Did you add the bumble bees or am I’m just bad at noticing details? You didn’t end up with black but the gold on the book is perfect!

Thanks so much @jeanneL I really wish I had been brave enough to go with the black…but I wasn’t. I looked at the indentions with a magnifying glass and was scared of filling them all with too much black…LOL!

Thanks so much! @JDisaduck The bee and one of the butterflies was from my previous build of the orchid. I was NOT going to do another one of those…LOL! The kit came with 6 butterflies…but I got tired of paintng/ coloring.
I thought the bees looked familiar! I love how they’re ’transferable’ hahaha.
Also good idea with the stickers. I honestly get sick of painting and plant making too.
The butterflies are printed photos that I cut out. @JDisaduck
