📖 [Rolife Journey] Cathy's Flower House completion

After one week, I have finally completed Cathy’s flower house. This was not an easy one for me. I did paint quite a few things and did a bit of rearranging. While installing my last roof and walls, I knocked off my birdhouse. After numerous attempts, I will just have to go without it. For the plants, I found that the double-sided tape came in very handy. I much prefer it over sticking the wire through and then bending it over. By putting the wire through and having the tape on the back side of the leaf, I was able to just press the wire against the back of the leaf and it forms a vein for the leaf. It gives it much better support so that you can shape them more easily. For the leaves that did not have a wire hole in them, I attached the tape to the leaf itself and then pressed it on the wire. I hope these tips can help somebody else in the future. I ended up pulling a couple of plants apart and redoing them because I liked the control you have over how your leafs bend.

your windows…wow! They’re so clear! Great job!

Wow love this build @Nita_Davis! You did such a great job on those plants. Thanks for the tip I’ll have to give that a go, I’m working on plants right now x

Thanks. I kept cleaning them as I went along…but still ended up with prints on the inside…LOL! I had to remove that whole piece once because I didn’t make my slots go into the door frame…UGH! @Tkaplan . One step forward and two steps back. I did a lot of dancing around on this one, for sure.

Thanks so much @Jo_Zanella . Even when using the tape. I will hold them firmly between my finger for a bit to make sure they attach well. Still much better than super glue…and they don’t flop around like with the wire bent over…plus that is time consuming as well. Wishing you the best on yours.

That sounds good Nita @Nita_Davis, I’ll give that a try. I still have super glue on my nails from last weekend :joy::joy::joy:

   You are not alone. Even though I recently bought 100% acetone polish remover, I have some tiny cuts on my fingers…and I refuse to use that stuff until they heal. @Jo_Zanella

Great tip on the leaves @Nita_Davis. As usual, your build is fabulous!

Thanks so much. @Suzanne_Jones .I hope it works well for you. Did you recently change your profile pic? Your babies are adorable.

So sorry about the birdhouse situation! But you did an amazing job nonetheless. I don’t enjoy plant-crafting, but who knows. Maybe that double-sided tape version is better for me  it’s the twisting that kills me.

Your flower house is so beautiful Nita

I can’t imagine making all those plants and flowers, I know how much work each one takes and you persevered through it all. Well done!

And I am also amazed at how clear your windows are. How did you do it?

Do you mean ‘nightmares’…LOL! @jeanneL I struggled a lot with that roof…and mine was not even the old one you described.

The plastic cover took a lot out of me. Haha. Great job and gorgeous work!

I don’t like that part either…BUT a solution might be to cut them to length shown in pics…tie some twine around the bottom and coat it in glue after inserting it thru the circle piece. I might try that in the future…IF I ever choose another kit with plants. I think I have covered all of the REALLY plant-y ones…LOL!

Oh, that actually sounds like an idea that may, and just may, change things. I’ll give it a go the next time I’m facing the tedious tape-free edition of the plant-crafting.

Thanks for that!
