🥰 [Rolife - Happiness] Little Builders & the Magic of Sakura Bonsai

This is our second update on the Sakura Bonsai, and the kids are still absolutely loving it. They’ve been celebrating every single new branch they add, and they’re completely absorbed in placing the flowers. It’s been really lovely to watch.[/justify]

This kit is exactly what I mentioned before: it’s not especially difficult, but it does require patience. And that’s a loooot for them :joy:. The flowers are quite delicate, and if you press them too much, they can pop out.

Also, because there isn’t a lot of room to maneuver when attaching the branches to the trunk, some branches ended up breaking along the way. This is actually the kit where they’ve used the most spare parts, some tiny pieces broke so badly that fixing them just wasn’t possible.

And with that… here we have some of our finished bonsais!!

Well… almost all of them. One of them had a little accident. Just as one student had finished and was coming to show me his bonsai, it slipped and fell to the floor, and half of it came apart. Ouch. This bonsai needs an ambulance and is being repaired at the moment .

That moment also made me reflect on my own Sakura Bonsai, which I still have waiting to be built at home. After seeing their experience, I think I’ll glue the flowers one by one as I go, just to make sure everything stays in place and avoids a disaster like that.

I hope you enjoyed this update! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

And now… next stop, and the last kit these amazing little builders worked on: The Purple Moth Orchid, definitely one of the most challenging kits for them.

You’re welcome

Oh no! My heart hurts for that dropped one! I definitely would have cried a little! Was it fixable? Hoping something can be done.
As for the others, they look just beautiful.

Thank yooou!!
Yeees, he cried a little and then I helped him fixing it, and that’s all heheheh

I should try this tree some time. Too bad I’m not in your class.

It’s my crafter instinct to drench anything that comes loose with glue.

Hahaha I’d love to have you in class, @SunnyCee! :joy:
And yes, the “just add more glue” instinct is definitely universal, I totally get you on that one!

Customer service reprimanded me one time for using too much glue. lol (not really)

I’m just like. If it falls off, I glue it and than glue it more. lol.

In all seriousness. Your tree is in ruff shape. The only chance would be to glue it in sections. I’ve dealt with catastrophes that were almost as bad. It’s not easy.

Good job kids! The Sakura Bonsai is an easy build but definitely requires you to be more gentle when assembling. You need to control how much pressure to put when attaching the branches and flowers. So it is really impressive they were able to put the bonsai together. They have learned another skill through it.

Haha, exactly! :joy: Glue is definitely part of the learning process here too. We ended up working in sections and taking it slow, patience and a bit of courage helped a lot!

Thank you so much! Yes, gentleness was the key lesson here. They really learned to control pressure and slow down, and I’m so proud of how they handled it

Yees!! Don’t worry, he just cried a little, and then I helped him to fix his kit, and used superglue when needed :joy:

Aww poor kiddo! But I’m sure you’ve fixed it up for him. :pink_heart:

If I build this one day I’ll most definitely remember to glue it too.

I’m telling you now, @JDisaduck, it’s already on my to-do list here, and I’m going to glue the flowers one by one with superglue :joy: :joy: :joy:

That was the first think I thought when we could fix it :see_no_evil_monkey::joy:

Or maybe Robotime will send you a replacement if glue isn’t possible.

@Wenbare, so glad to see the kids enjoying building Sakura Bonsais, and in spite of those tiny hickups, they’re still super nicely built! It’s such a fulfillment to see how this beautiful kit got kids together and created moments of joy and collaboration  Thanks for making it happen, and looking forward to seeing more!
