The Seahorse Barque build is officially underway and I am fully in my pirate ship era.
This one is not a “rush it and finish it” build…it’s a slow, detailed, trust the process kind of journey. I’ve been painting, mixing colours, and testing finishes before committing anything permanent. Lots of dry fitting, lots of stepping back to admire, and lots of “okay… one more tiny detail before bed.”
I’ve been customizing as I go, mixing my own paint shades, layering tones to get the wood just right, and adding depth so the ship doesn’t look flat. Every piece feels like it deserves its moment…
I am also using my enamel paints to add some depth of colour.
She’s still in progress, but already feels legendary.
A true pirate ship deserves patience.

Wow this is definitely something legendary in the making!
I LOVE what you did with the wood! It’s honestly perfect for a weathered pirate ship. You know she’s been on many routes across the ocean!
I can’t wait to see this finished. Do it at your own pace tho!

It’s actually been fun, patience with the tiny pieces but good all in all, getting a table light close to my work station helped!
Thank you! I am also considering changing the sails to white… or adding some that are white, I am trying to figure out how to age the sails

The enamel paint is great for plastic pieces usually! I used them for small Warhammer/ Cars models in the past. They can be Gloss/ Flat/ Metallic etc.
