ROKR Mechanical Typewriter LK703B · LK703C | Every Gear Moves. Every Keystroke Matters 💌

I love stationary stores and buying nice notebooks. I have quite the collection lol
What about you? Can you walk past a stationary store without going in and browsing or buying?

@Buszman welcome to the community ! That will be a lovley gesture ! :smiley::smiley:

This is my vintage grammapnone. It was my mother’s and I still listen to it. That typewriter is a beautiful model.

@Robotime

I remember the old metallic typewriters were still selling in stores. The one we used at home was a sad grey one belonging to my father. Contrary to computers now, the slightest spelling mistake made you re-start writing on a novel paper:rofl:. And I remember it was so heavy to carry!

Those created by Robotime are beautiful and make us want to type on the keyboard keys and write anything, books, notes or song lyrics as previously. You can’t help but feel nostalgic.

Share how you recreate the vintage vibe in your everyday life

I was born in 1981. The 80’s-90’s pop culture and my music tastes are strongly influenced by my teenage brother and sister who shared with me their passion for songs from the 80’s. At that time, people were wearing funny and colorful clothes, wore iconic hairstyles, and there were celebrities like George Michael from Wham and André Agassi with their special hairstyles. I’m totally fond of those songs from this period of time.

I have kept my old platine which still works and some old vinyls to listen to several iconic songs of bands from the 70’s-80’s, notably:

  • Michael Jackson of course!

  • Madonna +++ (Like a prayer, Holiday, la Isla Bonita, Into the groove…)

  • Wham (Wake me up before you go, super song for waking up in a good mood before work :grin:!)

  • U2 (Where the street have no name, With or without you,…)

  • Cindy Lauper (Girls just want to have fun, Time after time, …)

  • Earth, Wind and Fire

  • ABBA

  • The Bee Gees, etc.

My favorite song ever is « Take on me » from A-HA :heart_eyes: with one of the most popular and innovative video clip at that time (and that had revolutionized the world of animation). Hearing this song is enough to makes me want to sing it and makes my day happier and brighter :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: .

@Ann how beautiful this is ! :cherry_blossom::blossom::cherry_blossom:

Hi @Cat, Welcome to the community! Hope you’ll enjoy discussing with the community. Cheers

Nowadays I’m able to, with a struggle. :laughing: My partner tells me to think about my collection at home and I would prefer siphoning my funds towards miniature houses. :see_no_evil_monkey: Pretty card stocks and stickers are my weaknesses!

Hello @Writer1845, welcome to the community. What you have done is incredible and it must have taken a lot of time to decorate this study and gather all those « vintage » items from the 19th century.

Hi @Ann, your gramophone is beautiful and precious. It’s great that it’s still working :blush:. For my part, I have one little gramophone from Rolife and a bigger one from ROKR that I will built with my husband and can play music.

Hi @Shiyuan_Ong, welcome to the community :blush:. With all the wooden kits proposed by Robotime, you’ll have plenty of choice. And, as you said and I totally agree, it’s very pleasant and relaxing to build yourself with your own hands.

Hi @Stephanie_Tudor, welcome to the community! Don’t hesitate to share your hobbies and ideas with us. It’s very pleasant to participate in topics that could interest you.

I have a thing for nice papers as well. Oh dear!!

That’s such a heartfelt reflection. That sense of history, of something tangible passed through hands and time, is irreplaceable.

That’s such a rich and inspiring glimpse into your world.

That sounds absolutely lovely. There’s something timeless about starting the morning with tea.

Your journaling practice, especially with Bible verses, feels like a personal archive of faith and resilience. And the fact that you cherish your own handwriting makes it even more special—it’s not just words, but a reflection of your spirit on the page. :heart_eyes:

Your journal is beautiful. My journal is more handwriting with some stickers on the page at times.

That’s good habit :wink: I like handwriting because it can let me really slow down and calm down myself :rofl: mostly on note, I didn’t have proper recipe because I’m a kitchen killer :rofl: and I always train my kids on handwriting too… :laughing:

Aw thank you so much! Bible verses help me to become stronger and I just love to design my journal through my handwriting. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thank you! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I just like to practice my calligraphy skill on my journal but sometimes, my journal is just simple. Just handwritten words and no design.
